So does anyone else get cold sores often? I've had 2 so far in a year and I'm not sure what to do to make them go away…

No I didn't think I'd get another one cuz when I do get one I just get one that year then it'll be years until I get another one but now I have another one and it's really aggravating I didn't know if maybe I could use abreva or something like that @emily18234

Honestly? I bite them and pop them. Than they just kinda go away for me..

this stuff gets rid of them in a couple days. I use it when I get them.

cold sores mean you have herpes. there's no cure and it doesn't just "go away". my mom got them so frequently she had to do valtrex because she said abreeva would even take too long to clear it up.

I get them. The dentist gave me a script to take as soon as I feel one coming on. I'd ask your dr or dentist

I get them all the time, before I was pregnant I got them during every period but haven't since becoming pregnant. Salt water is what I just used and oragel, other then that they just kind of clear themselves up. Mine were always from consuming so much acidic stuff like fruits, Gatorade constantly, and other things.

@emily18234 I have gotten them on my tongue before but I got tested for "herpes" and other stuff at my second appointment and it turns out I don't have "herpes" or anything else so what does that mean?

Well I drink apple juice a lot and Gatorade and soda I don't really drink water but I guess I should start @scc2413

@hailholla1412, either it was a canker sore or you got tested for hsv1 and have hsv2 or vice versa

Apple juice and Gatorade will do it. I use to play travel softball and I'd literally drink like 10 Gatorade a weekend while I was at a tournament every weekend and my dentist told me I had to start drinking more water or I'd destroy my enamel by the time I was 25 and the canker sores would keep coming.

Abreva works great but I get Valtrex from the doc and if I feel it coming on I take the pills and it usually stops it

Almost everyone gets cold sores in their lifetime I have been tested for HIV heroes the whole nine yards when I found out I was pregnant and all my tests are good the herpes simplex one virus isn't something to worry about its normal almost everyone has it because we were most likely exposed to it as kids through adults so it's not something doctors really worry about unless you get them literally all the time then they can give you medicine for it @hailholla1412

Well I got some campho phenique and so far it's working pretty well but lord does it taste awful I accidentally fly got some in my mouth and that's by far the worst tasting thing ever lol @littlelentil @mommyof3boys
