Random question. My son is 3, will be 4 next month. I am due in March. My son knows babies drink milk and I try to explain that mommy makes the baby's milk, but he of course just dismisses me and says they drink bottles. No big deal to me. My concern comes when the baby is born. My son is very body aware. Knows "nipple, boob, peepee" l, again, all fine by me. But has anyone had the situation where an older toddler wants to try a sip of the baby's milk, straight from the source? How did you handle it?

I had that come up so I pumped a little for him and gave it to him in a "special cup" and it made him feel included. Plus he said it was delicious! lol

I figured I'd do this. my fear is just him saying that he wants to do it like baby. I don't care, but if it went back to his dad, his dad would swear I'm molesting him

Honestly it's a mother/sons choice. If you would feel comfortable breast feeding and he wants to then it's completely normal. Remember that in a lot of places around the world kids breast feed until around age 5.

@mckennamarie, I know that, but his father and i... the courts know us very well. every 3 months were in there and he's accusing me of abuse. they stopped believing him so he has to now say my fiance is abusing him. if my son told him he "drank mommy's boobie" or something, I know he'd have a field day. he thinks breastfeeding is repulsive. I'm the opposite

Well you should look up some local laws on how old breast feeding is allowed. I'm very sorry to hear you're going through all of that. Just do what is right for you and your kiddos.
