No problem. Try not to worry unless they tell you that you should be concerned.

Yea that's normal, a lot of women actually get low blood pressure during pregnancy so that's probably why you're down to normal. The diabetes shouldn't affect your blood pressure any, it's your blood sugar that they'll be monitoring

I had borderline high blood pressure before I got pregnant. It was usually in the 130's and now it's in the 120's. It will change throughout pregnancy

Yeah, I agree with @shannonb95 they might just want to monitor to see what the best approach to managing it. They probably want to see how it fluctuates throughout the day and how your body reacts to foods. They might send you home with diet and exercise or they might want you on medication. The hospital isn't the enemy and they want what's best for you and your baby to be healthy 😁 it seems horrible but with how advanced medicine is now you will be fine either way.

@tylersmom, don't be scared! It's such an easy thing to manage, and it's really not anything to be too upset about. Like @rochelleyayy said, stress won't do you any good. It really won't cause any harm to baby at this point, they just want to avoid him or her getting too big

But the crazy part about this is I have high blood pressure but since I've been pregnant my blood pressure has been good and I never took any medication for it

No, I'm Type 1 Diabetic. Meaning that my pancreas doesn't make any insulin and I'll be on an insulin pump for the rest of my life. This whole pregnancy I've just had to see my doctor a lot more than most - 16 total ultrasounds and I see my doctor every week and have fetal stress tests every week starting week 32. Since I've been diagnosed with it for so long and I monitor it myself it's a little different. My way of treating it is also different, since I'm fully insulin dependent and diet and exercise won't make a difference. They're probably just doing a 24 monitor to gauge how your gestational diabetes is doing, to give them an idea of what all they'll need to do to treat it and get you back to normal. I wouldn't be too worried about it

Yes they told me that we have to go into the hospital so they can monitor me and the baby. For 24 hours and tell me a bout it but I'm just so scared 😖😖😰😰

Try not to worry. It's not that uncommon and it's very manageable. Stress won't do any good for you or baby. You will be absolutely fine 😊

No they just prescribed me a blood sugar reader for at home and I had to log everything I ate and then my blood sugar after an hour of eating. I was on a diet the rest of the time and the time in the hospital. Once he was born they checked his blood sugar and his was normal. My PP appointment they checked again for diabetes and I didn't have it. @tylersmom

Plus it should go away after pregnancy. Gestational diabetes just means that your body has become resistant to the insulin your pancreas makes, making your blood sugars run a little high (not enough to cause any major illness, since you're still getting insulin). The exercise helps lower it as well as avoiding sugary foods, and if need be they have meds that help with your body not being so resistant

Did you have to go in for 24 hours so they can monitor you and the baby?@rochelleyayy

They'll just have you exercise and cut down on your sugar, no need to worry :) they might also give you meds. It's a very common thing to develop. You and baby will be fine, if you don't control it your baby will just grow too large and you'll have a possibility of a c section. But as long as you keep your blood sugar down you shouldn't have to worry 👌

I had gestational diabetes with my first. As long as you follow the diet and take care of yourself you and baby will be fine. I didn't find out until I was like 37 weeks so I hadn't been doing anything different and we were both fine. It went away after giving birth.
