Anyone thinking of what to do about Birth control post baby? I'm thinking of just getting the shot and my doctor said it take your period away for 3 months I'm really not looking forward to having periods again lol.
I would go with the implanon which is the rod thing, i haven't heard anything bad about it.
I got my last depo shot February 2015 and I'm now 11w pregnant, I'm surprised it happened so fast, but the two periods I had before getting pregnant were very irregular.
nope no meds, and I breastfed also. Do your research first on it! it's nice not having a period but it's so much more that come with it.
I was on no other medications and was otherwise healthy. My best friends older sister also had the same issue, it's fairly common. But I've also seen some people have no issues whatsoever with it.
@justmarriedhavingaboy did you have any fertility complications? How soon did your sister try to conceive after the shot?
@drmurphy13 he didn't mention a patch but he told me about a rod that they can put in your arm that last for 3 years!
@eev @0816mommy were you guys taking any other medications? I plan on breastfeeding and he told me it's the shot is the safest one while I breast feed but I will get cramping from my uterus shrinking
f your breast feeding you may not get a period for 6 months or so... I didn't get it back for a year while I was breast feeding. it was great!! I'm not going on bc though. it's always scared me. it made my sister infertil (the Depo shot). I'm guna just let God handle it and track my cycles.
I got the shot back in high school and bled for NINE full months every day. Turns out it had thinned my uterus to the point that we have to take fertility drugs to have children or a fertilized egg would be unable to attach.
I'm with you I'm debating on going back on the pill or the patch I'm not even sure what to do
I wouldn't recommend it. I got on the shot 3 different times and had different experience each time. the first time was in the hospital after I had my son, I spotted for like 8 months I stopped after the second injection. and the second time everything was fine, no periods, only headaches. this last time my hair broke off, had terrible migraines, and was moody as heck. I had to stop.
I got the Mirena IUD after my first. It lasts 5 years before you need to replace it and it's no maintenance. I suck at remembering pills and needles scare me. I had like no period with it also (if I got it, it was super light and only lasted a few days) if you're not a period person lol 😂
