OH's manager has fucked his paternity leave up. Kept telling him he would order and give him the form for months but is always too busy sat on his arse on his phone to actually get things done. He can't start it until the 20th of Feb now and I'm due the 12th so when I have the baby he can have the day off but then has to go back to work on crazy shifts until the 20th. He's going to be exhausted since he does nights and then day shifts in random patterns. She'll be here before my due date at this rate because my midwife thinks I'm in slow early labour. Same manager that said he wished his wife had had a miscarriage when OH asked for some leave when I had my last one at 16 weeks. Ugh I'm so glad I don't work there anymore🙄

The second assistant manager told him he can start it when the baby is born regardless of the form issue but the main one is adamant he can't so I'm not sure what will happen. He could refuse to work and make a case but they'd probably fire him. I hope everything goes smoothly in and after labour because I've got no one to support me otherwise😔

can he report it to HR, as this manager not ordering the forms has affected his maternity leave, what if you have a c-section and need your partner at home! Also why should he miss out the the first weeks with his baby because the manager has been negligent!

I've advised him to do that but he doesn't want to cause any fuss. Our manager is a real dick and would make the rest of his career there hell if he knew he'd reported him😔

I've just spoken to him on his break and they've said if I go into labour this week he still has to go to work regardless of if I'm in the hospital or at home. It's made me really scared because I don't have anyone else and don't even know how I'd get home if he left me at the hospital ☹

I think he finds the manager really intimidating and he hates confrontation. I have faith that when I am in labour he'll just tell them to F off so I'm not too worried but the thought of potentially being left alone is quite scary!
