I posted this a few days ago but @preggie_usa has asked everyone to post about their experiences with carseat safety with the hash tag #carseatsafety so I wanted to share again
**not my facebook post**
I just have to share this.
a lot of women feel attacked when we, as a carseat advocates, reach out and try to show them they are doing something wrong. we don't do it to say "I'm better than you and you suck" we do it because we wish someone did it for us when we started out.
we do it because of this right here, when we try and help you, and you ignore us and continue to do things that put your child's life at risk we ask mothers have a heart attack every time you get in your car. we fear for your child's life, possibly more than you do but only because we know the facts and have seen the gory details of what could happen, while you are driving with the misplaced confidence that your child is safe when they're not.
we, as mothers who have tried to help, don't ever want to feel like this mother did. like WE failed your child when we could not change your mind about doing what's best for your babies. we don't want to feel the heart break that someone we care about could lose their child because of something that could have been prevented, when we could have shared that knowledge with you.
when YOUR child is fighting for their life, because of YOUR decisions, WE are heart broken and hurting too because we feel like WE failed YOUR child.
don't write us off, we are not attacking you, you are not a bad mother, we are just trying to help you since you may not know better yet.

@jdrose, that's so great that you are thankful most people are not.

@motheroftwojk, at that age it is actually illegal for her to be in a high back booster, you can call the cops on him. he would only get a ticket for it but you can also take it to court and require your daughter be in a safer seat.

@crunchymomma, I need to look into that because she actually tried to slide herself from under the belt because they only have the bottom part of the bely securing her and put the strap behind the car seat. I just pray every time she leaves with them

@motheroftwojk, I would find out what specific seat she is in, but one way or another if you life in a proper use state if she is in a high back booster she is not following the carseats requirements and her father is breaking the law by putting her in that seat. I would definitely be getting ahold of your lawyer if you have one or take him to court to make sure he uses proper carseat safety. the seat she's using is not sage for her at all :(
