mine does that all the time its so irritating.. I have stopped having conversations with him because of this.

story of my life! I'll be telling him something important and think he's listening but when I remind him the next day he tells me that I never told him about it.....but if I even look like I'm not paying attention to him he complains. gets on my nerves
