has anyone done their down syndrome testing? I'm five months and the doctor says the baby looks fine and on track should i still ask for the fluid test?

@kim5309, yes even at 20 weeks. When I was pregnant with my son he had a marking that indicating he could have downs. The high risk doctor asked if I wanted the test done to where they take the fluid. Luckily I already knew the risk of it hurting the baby and told them I didn't want it. You should still be able to take the blood test. I think it's between 14-22 weeks but I am not 100% positive on that. With the blood test they just take blood from your arm. However if your anatomy scan showed everything was fine then I would probably just skip it all together
The blood test is fine but I recommend NOT doing the fluid test. It can be very harmful to the baby.
just went to get all my measurements for the baby and the doctor said the baby looks great and brain looks good...didnt say they saw any signs
they took my blood at almost 13weeks. they called a week later and said everything looked normal. they only took it from my arm.
I had my first appointment at 4 months I was already taking pre natals and had gone to the hospital for a ultrasound... they took like 5 blood tubes out and said it's for testing but nothing mainly about down syndrome
no news is good news. i had mine done at 16w as well and my doc said if i dont hear anything back then that means everything is fine
Did they tell you they were taking it for the test? They should have offered it to you and you'll know if they are taking it for the test they will tell you.. They took a bunch of mine. And they take your blood either way to check other stuff so I would ask. I mean I wanted it maybe not everyone does.
they took my blood but haven't called about anything and I just had my 20 week ultrasound done
