My mama is really on my last nerve lately. Over something so small really. She is wanting my son to call her some strange name that apparently means "grandma" in German, but I don't like it so I told her no. I'm like 1/5 German, so that just doesn't make sense to me lol. Just wondering what will your mothers be called by your babies?

Oma & Opa for grandad...its jus sounds weird bekuz yur not used to it lol...tell her think of somethin else or it'll be grandma if its that serious to yu lol...she has to go off yur wishes...not hers...
My mom is wanting to be called Mimi, but then again my boy is going to have a ton of grandparents as he still has his great great grandparents, great grandparents (one is divorced and remarried), and my parents (mom is divorced and remarried), so for the sake of being able to know the difference between which grandma/grandpa we are referring to, we have Mimi, Gigi, Papa, grandma, grandpa, Grammy, etc lol
Nana for my mom and mam-maw for his mom. Our older girls are used to it already. They call his grandmother mee-maw.
@becky_rae, Yeah the German word she wants to be called is apparently "Oma" and I just don't understand, it makes me think of "omen" lol so I told her no. She doesn't like just Grandma so I suggested Gigi too @mrsprincessdenise3, or NeNe but she doesn't like those. So I don't know what she expects me to do 😂
My mom wants our baby to call her mama I flipped out when she told me lol
just be glad she didn't want your little one calling her something off the wall like my mom did. she wanted neenaw and to me that sounds like a damn donkey so me and my sister talked her into changing it
I don't get the point of the nicknames. I call my grandma, grandma.
