anyone else's small baby not want to wake to feed? I've been feeding her through the day pretty reliably every 2 hours (shes 3 weeks old, takes 2.5 ounces of breaskmilk each bottle) but during the night she tries to sleep the whole night away. anyone else have this issue? any suggestions?

I did, they said it looked fine and couldn't so much for it, it was going to be clipped anyway

I would have taken her back to five hospital to see what they could do since She tore her tie.

@shelbyroberson, she has trouble on the right side sometimes but she's good on the left side. she was tounge tied when she was born, but the night we brought her home, I was sanitizing her pacifiers and she put her hand in her mouth with no scratch mittens on and tore her tie all on her own. in the hospital she did OK on both sides

if she is above her birth weight you can let her sleep

My daughter did that at 2 weeks old. I just co-slept and at night time if she wanted milk she got it on command. Have you tired a nipple shield for the poor latch? It gets them used to the nipple. If you have any poor latch questions feel free to ask my daughter was on the nipple shield for two weeks until I weaned her off so she could get used to the breast.

she's gaining more weight now, we went to the doc today and she's above her birth weight. during the day I try to feed her 2.5 ounces every two hours (she has trouble staying latched on the breast so I pump as much as possible and fees her from a bottle) but at night it seems like she'd be just as happy sleeping through the night

my baby does that. what I do to wake her up is change her diaper and then I use a wet wipe and I gently wipe her face. but you can let her sleep for 4 hours max at night. so if she sleeps at 10... let her sleep until 2 am and see if she wakes up then. if not try the wet wipe to the face.

Waking to feed? My dd is a week old and I was told by her doctor to wake her every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night to feed her. For the first 3 days I did that and when I would wake her fit a night feeding she was fussy and usually wouldn't go back to sleep and would want to nurse constantly until about 9 am. I tried not waking her last night and she slept beautifully! She woke up around 6 hours in and ate then slept another hour or so and ate again. Is it ok to let her sleep?
