So since I have had mastitis for the second time.. I've decided it's time for me to quit breastfeeding. My baby has been on formula for the last week almost and he does just fine. I really want to let my milk dry up but I'm super scared. I don't know if I should wait until I finish my antibiotics, or do it now while taking them? I don't want the mastitis to get worse, but I also don't want it to come back after I finish my medicine. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do??
I just stopped yesterday... I've been pumping when I feel full but don't empty completely. I've noticed already that I'm not filling up as fast. I read it you do that it should dry up in a couple weeks
I say do what's ever best for you mommy, me personally I never had mastitis but I would be in super pain if I went to long without pumping. Once I pumped I felt better, I did breastfeeding for a 1 month and something. After I did what was best for me and just gave him formula! He's still growing healthy. And within 3 weeks my milk dried up. But I always felt like he wasn't getting enough breastmilk anyways. I say do whatever you feel comfortable with!
Oh man! I have no idea! Google a bunch of stuff! Lol. I'm sorry I'm no help!
I'm allergic to sulfa, and I read that if your allergic to sulfa you should not use cabbage. :/ I went like eight hours without pumping the other day and that's what ended up causing mastitis again. So idk what to do. I'm scared it will come back. ): @arielmarietalks
i was told to cut a pumping session out everyday or so. i just stopped altogether though
