My birth story (4 days later)
I woke up at 5 am Thursday morning (not because of contradictions but because our fire alarm kept beeping from a low battery lol)
Started having contractions that felt like period cramps around 6. Started timing them for an hour they were around 5 mins apart. I wasn't in a lot of pain so I called my mom to ask if she thought
I should go in and of course she said yes. So I woke up hubby and we left for the hospital. Called my doctor on the way and she said I would I probably get sent back home because they weren't very painful. So that's what I was expecting. Got to the hospital at 8 and got a sonogram which showed that I was low on fluids so they decided to induce me since I was already 40 weeks 1 day. At this point I was still only 3 cm dilated since my last weeks appt. They started the piotecen around 12:30 at a level 2. Bumped it up all the way to level 14 then broke my water. Shortly after that I felt like I literally wanted to die so I decided to get an epidural around 7 pm. Which did hurt very much. Took a while for my whole body to get numb but once I did I felt so much better. Didn't get much sleep through the night because of all the nurses coming in to check me. After about 20 hours and not dilating past 5 cm (which runs on my moms side of the family) they decided I needed a c section because every time I had a contraction the baby's heart rate would drop. After my long night, I agreed. So they prepped me and I got the surgery done at 9. My biggest fear was being able to feel the needle which I could not. But I did feel a lot of pain at one point. Not sure what they were doing, maybe pulling her out but what articles describe as a tugging feeling I just felt pain. Anyway out came my baby girl! 7lbs 1 oz 19 in and perfect in every way. (the rest is in the comments)
Thank you! Recovering from the c section has been pretty painful but of course I'd do it all again for my baby girl :) @ligermama
So amazing! I love birth stories. Every one is different and special. Sounds like you were a trooper. Congrats again :)
We started beast feeding but she slept so much we had to start supplementing because she may have had jaundice. After 2 nights under the lights we got to go home :) I'm still breastfeeding with a nipple shield, pumping and supplementing. Baby girl sleeps so much but I couldn't imagine being without her!
Congrats
