it can affected the baby the best thing to do is start now the quitting process get rid of one cigarette every 2 weeks until your done if you need to replace it with mints or something. but going cold turkey can harm you and a baby

I use to smoke and didn't find out till about seven weeks but I was nauseous from smoking so I didn't have to "quit" but I do know it's harder to get pregnant while smoking.

I'd quit before you get pregnant but if you quit as soon as you find out you're pregnant baby will be just fine. With my first I was a smoker and didn't know I was pregnant until I was 7 weeks and it took me 2 weeks to quit... My daughter came out perfectly healthy weighing 9lbs 2ounces!

If you want to quit try hitting the sauna 3 days straight, it's supposed to help a lot.. If you're trying to get pregnant you shouldn't quit cold turkey but you should reduce your nicotine intake and start taking prenatal vitamins :-)
