i hate insurance companies i was in the hospital twice for UTIs related to my pregnancy yet the insurance wont cover…

It's cause you're over 18. You no longer have Famis, correct? it's family first or something like that? Mine just screwed me over with that. I turned 19 about a week or so ago, and got a letter in the mail yesterday saying I'd no longer have coverage after the end of March, because of my age. Told me I had to call my case worker and get her to change my plan... It's ridiculous. I understand they're doing us a favor by making it free and all, but don't make it so complicated. Eye care, dental care, I can understand that.. but bladder infections can kill an unborn baby, that's complete bullshit that it's not covered.. you should call them. Mine probably aren't covered anymore either. :/

but the only reason why i have this is because im pregnant, they told me it would cover anything that was pregnancy related. which in my opinion this would fall under that category. if it was cuz of my age i wouldve never qualified for it to begin with..im 24

medicaid has to cover it. they covered all my stuff. call them. I had this problem because they thought I had other insurance but once I cleared that all up they covered it.

who thought you had other insurance?? medicaid??. @parkers_mommy did u have to be hospitalized for UTIs or something similar too??.

@seleneromanortiz12, yes medicaid thought I had other insurance because I was still in policies that had been closed out. no I wasn't hospitalized. just went to the er once since it was so bad & then urgent cares after that. medicaid pays for stuff that isn't pregnancy related, I've been sick multiple times with colds & bronchitis this pregnancy they paid it.

when i signed up for it they told me it only covered prenatal and delivery? @parkers_mommy

I have insurance through my husbands work and it sucks. I just got a bill for 950.00 for my level 2 ultrasound and genetics testing, which I was told would be covered. So I'm thinking if this bill is 945.00, I don't even want to know how much the birth of my child is going to be.

yeah this bill i got for my one hospital stay is over 3,000 ...i hope this covers my csection and not just "normal" birth otherwise im screwed 😭oh and i have a level 2 ultrasound cpming up too got to make sure that my insurance covers it too..@caracross1,

I called my insurance ahead of time to see if they covered all that stuff, they said yes. Apparently the only covered 200.00 worth. It sucks.

wow -_- Now that you mentioned that im gonna call and ask them about that too because i dont want to add to what we already owe. its so stupid how insurance works. @caracross1

@seleneromanortiz12, I have medicaid & it covers everything. do you have other insurance? medicaid is an assistance they can't just pick & choose what they cover. so many people have medicaid as just regular insurance & not pregnant they cover more than pregnancy. I'd look into it if I was you.

@seleneromanortiz12, did you check just a prenatal care option? I'd look into changing whatever plan you have if possible.
