Will insurance cover therapy or will I have to pay for it?
@rebelprincesz24, I’ll try to help you look also if I find anything worth noting I’ll send you a PM
@raqueliiosiis, I live in Escambia County Florida, it’s worth checking into though. Thank you for the advice
@rebelprincesz24, I worked for a behavioral health location before and sometimes they would cover it but they needed multiple referrals from primary care physicians. I would honestly suggest talking to your PCP and have them make the referral I’m not sure your OB can refer. What county you do you live in? You can always go to the county website and see if they’ll show what benefits they offer. For example in Orange County California the medicaid mental health benefits are managed by a company called Magellan and they will give you an evaluation at no cost and depending on what the psychologist determines the psychologist will give (usually) 6 additional sessions. They just have to prove there is a medical necessity for them so usually you’ll end up with some kind of diagnosis like depression or anxiety. If they can’t medically justify your visits then they won’t cover them and you’ll be stuck paying out of pocket for the visits.
@raquely, hopefully he will do that for me because I just feel like I need to see someone about it..
@raqueliiosiis, I was worried about that, it wouldn’t be for the two of us just me. He doesn’t believe therapy can help someone
@raquely, where I go in and talk to someone, I have things that bother me and stress me out that probably shouldn’t and I feel if I can talk to someone about it maybe it’ll help out.
Also you mentioned something about your relationship just FYI a lot of insurances do not cover any type of couples counseling/therapy
Private insurance should Medicaid (pregnancy or low income) will not cover it.
@lolimedd, @kendrab, @vvrobinson, thanks ladies hopefully I can get something figured out.
Some insurances cover it. Depends on your state, your insurance and which services you use
@rebelprincesz24 i know the feeling momma, i went in for being bipolar, but it really all around helped me cause its someone to talk to and help me sort threw everything i really hope youre covered because sometimes talking is the best thing to do
@kendrab, thank you. Really hope I can cause I just need to be able to see what’s causing all some issues that I have and how things can be resolved because it’s making things with my relationship even harder.
@rebelprincesz24 if therapy benefits the pregnancy, say your bipolar, depressed etc. It should be covered but im not sure.. you could talk to your doctor about it and they will set you up. Best of luck♡
@kendrab, I didn’t get an insurance book lol plus my insurance is only the pregnancy one
Some insurances do. My therapy is paid for by them, you can call and ask (: or read your insurance book theyve sent you
Here it helps some of the cost but unfortunately won’t cover 100% .
