I had my daughter 4years ago and I decided to get an epidural because she was my first and I was afraid of labor pains. Well with this pregnancy, when I found out it was a boy my husband and I decided this was it. No more babies. I decided since this was my last, I would go all natural to experience everything, because I heard you're more connected/engaged in the birthing process. Long story short: I'm traumatized!! That was the worse pain I've ever felt and was also the hardest thing I've ever done in my life... I loved that I was able to complete my intended plan because I was more engaged with my son but I'm glad I'm DONE!
If you want to get the epidural GO FOR it, why experience that kind of pain if you don't have to!!!!
Loll girlllllll!!! I hope I won't be in too much pain in the car. Im not Tryna be the girl on the news that gave birth in the car on the side of the highway lollllll
Lmbo @mmmirage That's a long drive while you're in labor... Hopefully your labor isn't too bad. Can't wait to hear about your experience😆
What!!!! 3?!?! I didn't know that's possible! My drive to the hospital is an hour by itself :/ my mom only had 2 kids but I don't know Cuz my sis in laws deliveries were opposite compared to her moms
@mmmirage, With my first I was in labor for 3hrs... I guess it just depends on your body. I think it can partly be associated to your mothers labors as well. My mom has 11 kids and pushed then all out quickly, I think I get the quick labor from her but I may be wrong
Lmaooo if I have a long labor, I would love to feel in Lala land while I'm having hardcore contractions and there's still like 6 hrs left for pushing lol I know the first delivery usually takes over 12 hrs I heard !
@theworkingwife, Lol I feel you... No more for me though! The only good thing that came outta that experience was my son..He's the only reason I won't develop post traumatic stress disorder 😂😂😂😂😂
@theworkingwife, Lmbo girl I thought I had a high tolerance for pain... Natural labor shouldn't be considered painful, it should be close to death💀💀💀💀💀
I started having subtractions on July 3rd around 10 that night went to the hospital that morning, got the epidural around 5/6 had him at 10pm July 4th.
I had the epidural and I plan on getting it again. I have a very high tolerance to pain and if I don't see the needle in good. it felt like a sting and v then the rest was history. I slept like a baby and before I knew it my water broke. it was warm and I thought I was so drugged up I pissed on myself. lol
@mmmirage, I heard the medication thru the iv kind of makes you so drugged up you're not really there during the delivery. I think the epidural will be good enough for you. When I compare it to this labor, it was God sent...
Lol girl epidural with that button. I'll be pressing for more. And also that pain medication thru the iv!! But see the thing is... I wana know when to push! No way I want a csection from being too numb 😰
@mmmirage, Lol that's funny but it's definitely an experience you'll never forget
@parkers_mommy I should've gotten it again too. if it wasn't for my husband and my awesome nurse encouraging me, I don't think I would've made it
I've had both natural and epidural and choose to get the epidural again if I have time. @parkers_mommy the needle isn't bad at all. they do it during a contraction and you could care less at the time anyways.
yea and i was only in the hospital for about 20 mins before baby was born
@babygirl10-11, My labor was that long too..Lucky us😅😅😅I thought I was about to die.
lol i so understand i had the epridural my last two babies but this time i didnt have time to get it and omg its the worst pain you will ever feel in your life im suprised i didnt pass out thank god my labor was only 3 hrs
@parkers_mommy, It really just depends on your pain tolerance. I'm almost certain if you chose to go natural this time, you'd definitely get an epidural for your next child. You'll be able to bond perfectly fine afterwards though. I'd say wait until you're in labor and you start to feel those real contractions... Once you've felt them, then make your decision
since you experienced both, would you recommend an epidural to a first time mom? I don't want one, I'm scared to have a needle anywhere in my back. 😳 but I'm also scared the pain will be so bad that my body will be too out of it to bond with my son after birth /:
Lmbo I know that's right... that would be traumatizing in itself
