Remedies for extremely sore throat...and go!!! Went to urgent care today. Have been sick with a fever of over 100, chills, sore throat, and cough since Wednesday. Didn't give me anything. Negative for strep and the flu. Said it's just a nasty cold that is going around the city. Told me to gargle with salt water. I have been. But this is just continually getting worse and I can't take much more! Help!!!

I had the same thing, my doctor told me cough drops were okay. I have been using Cepacol brand cough drops. They have Benzocaine so it numbs your throat. Really helped me along with Tylenol. Just make sure you don't eat them like candy lol.

Don't know about the sore throat but Tylenol cold works wonders. I just got over a nasty cold myself. I only took it the first 3 days of me being sick.

Thank you ladies. They did tell me it was okay to take mucinex. So I've been taking that. But that is not helping with the soreness of my throat. I honestly could deal with the stuffy nose if my throat didn't feel like it were on fire!!! I do have some cepacol cough drops and have tried to only use like 2 a day. I just need to get some sleep. I have slept more than like 20 min here or there since Tuesday night.

Try some hot chamomile tea with honey and lemon. That really helped me when I was sick.

take some children's robitussin. that's what my ob told me to take.
