It was such a rollercoaster.
Saturday morning, noticed some jelly-like substance kept coming out. Put it together, and thought hmm.. maybe it’s my mucus plug. Didn’t think much of it, went on about the day.
Sunday morning, woke up to a big amount of jelly like substance with some blood.. called L&D and they confirmed my suspicion of the mucus plug. Suggested I keep track of contractions and stay hydrated. Around 3pm, noticed the contractions being consistent, happening every 7 minutes lasting for a minute or so. They suggested I take a warm bath, continue with water intake and wait until it’s closer to like 5 minutes apart.
Called again at like 11:30pm and they suggested the same thing basically. But to wait until they’re 3 mins apart. Around 3:30am, I really couldn’t take it anymore so I called and asked if I can just come in. They said I risk getting sent home, husband said let’s just do it and see where we’re at. Got to the hospital around 4, got checked in 15 mins later…. To find out that I was already 9CM!
I couldn’t get any IV meds and I didn’t want the epidural— so I was basically forced to have a non medicated birth. Pushed for literally a minute and she was here!
I’ve been thinking about this app since I got pregnant this time around, but seemed to always forget to look it up.
Thanks to pregnancy insomnia! I found it.
Like the previous post, a lot has happened.
First things first, I got married to my wonderful husband (eloped in October 2022, ceremony in April this year). Met him back in 2016, months before I started dating my first daughter’s dad. We were long distance for a bit before he moved here this past July. He and I found out we were expecting middle of December. Couple of days after picking up my wedding dress, lol. We found out we were having a girl during our wedding in Mexico. He has been nothing but amazing towards me, my daughter, and our daughter who’s deciding to really waiiiiit to make her debut.
With my 1st daughters dad, it’s been such a rollercoaster ride. Daughter and I left the house, court orders in place, July 2020. He was always smoking his weed and drinking excessively. We were living in a 4 bedroom house, along with my niece, her bf and her daughter. I had moved into the spare bedroom that January because of how bad things were getting. He was hardly present and he was so vindictive. He didn’t respect me at all, and was often in denial of the abuse he was doing. While I was moving myself into the room, he decided to grab my clothes that were on the bed and throw them outside. He would also come home and go into my room and just death stare me down while daughter and I would be asleep. It was just all bad.
All things aside, this pregnancy has been so much different from my first. Husband, though he was not even in the same state, was/is so much more supportive. And my eldest daughter has expressed being so excited.
I’m nervous about labor. Only because I’m trialing labor in hopes to do a VBAC. Considering the atmosphere would be so different, I believe I’d have the support and care now than I did my first time. Ex wasn’t present mentally, didn’t want to stay there, always leaving to go eat elsewhere and play video games. Granted, this pregnancy hasn’t had me laboring yet, but my husband is showing up in all the ways my ex hasn’t and it just melts my heart.
