@dr.grey, I was going to put this in the comments on your post but I felt like it would be way too long. I mostly shop at Aldi. Here what the 2019 shopping list looked like ( some of the items are not available. Do I been using that list like a foundation…. Just add or taking away:

I shop aldi weekly and have you been having issues with your food being spoiled or expired but the dates are still good. This has been a big issue at my aldi and my walmart and I'm frustrated. Milk, cheese, orange juice, meats like ground beef and chicken. Fruit and vegetables I'm lucky to get two days out of. And we have had issues where things like a box of Mac and cheese looks fine get it home and the cheese packed has been opened and leaking all on the inside of it.

@motherofmany yeah aldi and our walmary have big a big issue. I'm over it and target is was to expensive for food. I'm going to try our local Amish community since all this is getting bad but we have a 45 minute drive so that's not happening with all the snow and ice we have been getting here

some Amish go to local farmers' markets and sell goods. See if that available in your area

I miss those prices. This past two years has been awful I can't imagine having a big family and buying food right now.

This list is from 2019. Aldi prices are not as bad as other markets. Now my 2023 list is way different than this.
