Who is responsible for school shootings?

In regards to the 6yo shooting his teacher…

This is the perfect result of crappy/uninvolved/neglectful parenting, irresponsible gun owners, and lazy parents allowing their children unrestricted access to YouTube, gaming platforms, and violent movies. Parents frequently outright refuse to get their child help when school officials raise concerns because too many people take it personally when the school is talking to them about their child or their child’s behavior. I frequently see it on here for minor behaviors and I see it in real life often. People need to set their pride aside and stop taking things so personally! People need to listen the medical and education PROFESSIONALS in their child’s life if they are raising concerns. They are not targeting your child. They are worried and they care!

People need to stop letting their small children have access to violent content that’s intended for teens and adults. There are some on this app that will defend letting their child use devices for hours on end and will defend to the death allowing their child to watch violent R-rated movies. Kids DO NOT have the brain capacity to understand what they’re seeing. Of course not every kid who’s allowed to watch violent movies or games will be violent (obviously). I’m not saying that. But what I am saying is that the child who shot his teacher absolutely does not understand the finality of death or the actual harm caused by a firearm, and that’s likely due to overexposure to things he shouldn’t have been allowed to watch or play.

Those parents should be charged 100%. Anyone who gives their young child free reign in games, internet content, and movies that are beyond their ability to comprehend should be ashamed of themselves. And anyone who ignores or, even worse, verbally bashes or attacks the teacher and/or school for raising concerns should also be ashamed of themselves.

Parents need to do better. Period.
