Cat stopped eating, what to do?
Anybody have a cat that suddenly stopped eating? My cat stopped eating a few weeks ago and he’s losing weight. It’s the same food we’ve been using and he used to gobble it down. Now he barely takes one bite and at the end of the day I throw it away and start over.
I buy the more expensive food and I don’t want to throw away $20 bags of food for no reason. Not really sure what to do. Will he actually starve himself?

@momgroupreject, @ekko, @callatelaboca, @theycallmemommy, @jennatess, @mom2godzillaandwonkypets, I took my cat to the vet today but he turned into a ferocious lion and wouldn’t let the doc or assistant near him 😟 He growled and swatted at them. They couldn’t do an exam at all. So I have to take him back tomorrow and drop him off so they can sedate him and do the exam and testing. It’s going to cost me $600 😩😩😩
Hopefully they were able to get a good look at him today!
@momgroupreject, I got a message from the doctor yesterday, I couldn’t answer the phone at the time. She only got some of the results back, still waiting on the rest. She said there are a lot of concerning issues that she wants to speak with me about but for now is prescribing a steroid called prednisone. Once the rest of the results come back we can talk about the next steps. Not looking good 😢
@momgroupreject, @ekko, @callatelaboca, @theycallmemommy, @jennatess, @mom2godzillaandwonkypets, I called 4 places and found a place that will see him. He has an appointment on Monday. If I wanted to pay extra I could take him Saturday but I figure 2 more days won’t hurt. Fingers crossed it’s not serious!
In the mean time maybe try wet food or cat sip when my moms cat got older and stopped eating the vet had her do that for a few years

I have, but it turned out to be cancer. 😔 Not that that’s your case! But i promise he didn’t just stop enjoying his food. It’s probably something to do with his kidneys. That’s nearly always the issue with cats. But could hopefully be resolved with medication.

Definitely take him to the vet. Not normal at all. I can understand money being tight but I would look into pet insurance or just be up front and ask if you can work a payment plan out.
Definitely vet visit. Cats not eating can lead to pancreatitis so quickly. He’s not starving himself, he’s super sick.
Have you taken him to the vet? This isn’t normal. You should get him checked out.
No because I don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on testing to figure out what’s wrong. We just moved to a new state 4 months ago and I don’t have a vet for him. His last vet visit was in December right before we moved.
@2sweetie, try applying for care credit. It’s seriously not good when cats just stop eating so there’s definitely something else going on and he deserves to be checked out. I understand vet visits are expensive but places like VCA will allow payment options. As well as any vet schools near you. It’s very serious though.

Idk if this is a little to harsh but my stepson is 2 and 7 months now the time outs are not working so I stepped it up a little and decided to take all toys away and tv away for whatever he has left of the day till bed time. Gets it taken for hitting us or throwing toys or kicking... He kicked me right in the mouth last night so he didn't get his toys till after nap and no cartoons and thats around 4pm is this to much??

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Update: we have been giving our kitty the steroid twice a day for almost a week now and have not seen any improvement. He’s barely eating and is very picky. He won’t eat dry food or drink water so we’re doing strictly wet food but he eats a tiny amount. He’s getting skinnier 😢 The doctor suggested to get an abdominal ultrasound to see if we can find anything but I don’t want to spend any more money and there’s no guarantee we’ll find a cure for him. She said it might be time to say goodbye 😭
