I don’t mind attending a typical “cut-the-cake-to-see-what-color” kind of party. Me myself: my first I just opened the envelope at a nice dinner with just my husband and my second we waited until birth.
But the whole elaborate thing just gets to be a lot.

@jennatess my MIL is like this. She absolutely lives and breathes her politics. My husband called her to tell her all the wonderful stuff our kiddo has been up to and instead she unloaded on him about Joe Biden for 45 minutes and she didn't hear a thing about her ONLY grandchild. Yikes.
