My daughter is 3 has yet to talk. She's in speech as well were hoping we start hearing words soon! Maybe you can have your pediatrician send a referral for some speech therapy!

No, don't feel bad. My son has Autism and didn't speak until after 2.5 years old and it was like single words. I always felt like I was talking to someone in a foreign country, we couldn't understand the other and it was frustrating and sad and I cried all the time. Have you reached out for resources like speech? You can ask his pediatrician for referrals? Sometimes the counties will also have resources as well.

My son was like that. He would get so upset. It was quite awful and traumatizing for me as a single and brand new mom. It didn’t start getting better until he was 4. He is still delayed in communication but much much better. I would suggest early intervention. I had my son start at 18 months where he learned some sign language to alleviate the problems.
