Has anyone on here dealt with a puppy and a newborn at the same time? Me and my partner lost one of our staffies last year to cancer, in late december we brought home a staffy pup as our other dog Dexter was starting to get lonely. The pup is now over 10 weeks old and she gets on great with Dexter which is amazing but i am starting to feel tired due to toilet training, seperation anxiety and nibbling. I know she will grow out of these puppy habits in time but she wont be fully trained by the time baby gets here and im worried i might not have the patience once i have a crying baby in my arms, any tips on how to stay sane are more than welcome lol:)
Awe what lovely lil doggos you have😍 good that they are protective though even if it gets on the way sometimes lol. Yeah defo will need to keep giving her loads of cuddles and attention when baby gets here to let her know shes still my wee pupper. Thank u gals xx
No advice sorry! But I'm also sorry to hear about your loss, I have 2 beautiful staffies myself they are so good around my children, unfortunately it is what it is you will just have to get on with it, I found my girl was toilet trained a lot faster than my boy so hopefully its the same for you. She didn't get past the chewing though till gone 1 🙈 xx
I was indifferent to staffies before i met my partner, hes had them his whole life and now i love the breed, loveable wee faces they just want to please you:) she does do her business outside but she hasnt worked out thats where she has to go like we still need to watch her like a hawk and quickly take her outside when we see shes about to do the toilet, got just over a month or so to go before baby arrives so hopefully by then she wont need to pee every half hour😂 thank u gal Xx
@kahh1997 they are and soo loyal I wouldn't have another breed now! She will get there in a couple more weeks there so clever it won't take her long but she will still have the odd accident most likely when you get up in the morning, she will grow up with the baby and have a amazing bond together. My eldest doesn't leave mine alone but they love him hes so please with himself when they come and sit with him whilst he's playing 🤣 aww not long will be here before you know it and your beautiful bundle of joy in your arms 🥰 xx
