How much does your kids sleep around age 3 or 4? I feel like my daughter does not get enough she is up by 630 almost everymoring and its such a fight to get her to bed like 9 930 she refuses to nap. Is this natural?

She even will tell you she can't sleep its hard for her.

I remember my daughter fighting sleep really hard at age 3 and she’d be up til 10/10:30 sometimes. It’s definitely a phase so just keep consistent with your bedtime routine and put her to bed at the same time every night. She is testing her limits. At that age is when I got my daughter a clock that has a face on it and you can set it to “go to sleep” at a certain time each night and set it to “wake up” in the morning. So at 8pm the clock face would close her eyes. At 8am the clock lights up and her face opens her eyes. That helped to explain to my daughter when it was time to sleep. I got it an Amazon

My almost 3 year Old goes to sleep around 9pm and is up around 7am. She usually takes a 2 hour nap during the day.

Idk what to tell you. It's a subject that is very touchy for some bc we a have our own methods. But it's hard to advise without actually knowing the child/family. Sorry. I really hope it gets easier soon! It will certainly get better with time.

My 4 year old goes to sleep at 6.30/7 and wakes up at around 6.30am. He stopped napping regularly at around 2 years old and all together at 2 1/2 other than rarely in the car. But he does sleep a lot at night so I don’t think he needs to nap in the daytime

My son used to sleep from 7:30 to 6:30 or 7. Since the quarantine and it’s summer now, he stays up until around 9:30 and wakes up around 8:30. I’ve really liked the extra sleep every morning!

That's almost exactly my 4 yr old. Occasional naps but not often. Physical activity drives how much sleep they need in normal cases. If my daughter is outside and gets plenty of exercise then she will sleep in until 0700 and take a short 1 hr nap. Does your little girl run and play hard?

@xryztalroze tes we do we eat then feed animals come in take a bath have some "downtime" but she won't sit still try to read witcg she won't listen to for more then a few seconds we don't have any night time stimulants like tv phones loud music then turn down the lights I tell her 30 min 25 min and 10 mins before bed and 730 is bed time and its a fight for hours after that

But she will tell you I'm tired but I can't sleep I have trouble falling alseep

@hakunamafuckitall If you lay down and cuddle her does that change anything? With my daughter even though she doesn't need us to sleep through the night she often keeps going and going and going and will say the same thing as your daughter about being tired but not being able to sleep and if we lay/sit with her somehow she has the comfort she needs to calm and go to sleep then we get up and she sleeps through the night. Sometimes that doesn't work for my DD though and I'm passed out while she is still ramped up, but I wonder if that would help? Def worth speaking to her ped about. They might order a sleep study for her to see what is going on. They can help determine if it's physiological or due to mental health, or even just personality. I hope she is just high energy and that this will benefit her when she is older. Hugs mama!

My 4 year old is asleep by 9/9:30 and up by 6:30 most days. He does have “quiet time” daily where he stays in his room. His choice on if he naps. Usually he’ll fall asleep for at least 30 minutes, but some days he doesn’t. He’s tired earlier but refuses to go to bed until he’s pooped and I’m done nursing the baby. The pooping thing is what takes the longest 🤦🏼‍♀️He also can’t do that without me 😩

@hakunamafuckitall, yeah mine head bangs/rocks himself to sleep. He’s pretty nonstop and the quiet time took him a while to get on board with. A lot of the time he runs laps in his room and jumps off his bed, which is just a mattress on the floor.

She sounds like a sensory seeker. Have you considered talking to an occupational therapist?

Editing to add, we also have the clock mentioned below and it’s been a life saver. My son used to leave his room as soon as the sun was up.

My 3 year old goes to bed at 9/10 and sleeps till 8-9am. He doesn't nap at all, he also refuses. I believe at this age naps go out the window, do you think she's saying that in Hope's you'll let her stay up longer? If not maybe speak with hrt doctor about that.

@hakunamafuckitall I would bring it up to her doctor. I know of a kid who's younger than this, I don't know the child's diagnosis but I do know they have to give her medication to help her fall asleep (prescribed by a pediatrician).

My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤️

I'm so sorry!
My heart hurts for you. I would sue the s*** out of those doctors.
So sad and heartbreaking. Brought tears to my eyes. No mother should lose her child so young
