I was just remembering a moment in the 90’s when I used to play on the sega a lot with my brother. When we beat the game sonic 3, not only did I love that ending song lol but it was like the end of an era. It was near the end of the summer, right before I would start junior high. The end of the 90’s, the end of hanging out with my brother to play games. Once September came around, he didn’t have time to hang out anymore, he ended up getting his first gf, he started working in Sam goody. He didn’t have time for me anymore but that summer was epic lol. I almost get teary eyed when I play sonic 3 now because of the memories. How epic the game was, all those months we would spend time play that game and finally being able to beat it together before we sort of parted ways. Anyone have a good memories of the 90’s ? 😃

@icebergahead, I remember first seeing the blood in mortal kombat and being blown away by that. My brother and I were both shocked that a video game could contain blood in it but we thought it was an awesome scary martial arts game. 😂 I was never really good at the fatalities but my brother was. I still wish I know how to turn Lui Kang into a dragon. I can’t believe he did it with know problem. Some of those fatalities were crazy combinations and it had to be really fast. I only knew how to do one of scorpion and one of subzero. I like how slick Kung Lao was when he would throw his hat and catch it like nothing happened while doing an awesome pose. 😂
Mortal Kombat was so cool back in the day..Kitana and Baraka were my go tos. Other games i really liked also were Tekken 1&2, Killer Instinct and Marvel Superheroes..Black Heart was the only character I used lol

The sonic movie is good. I really thought sonic was adorable the way they made him and Jim Carey played a really good dr robotnik. He’s funny in it as well.
I love most of my 80’s memories but for 90’s? I loved watching Liquid Tv on Mtv😁
I always felt like it was an adult, naughty cartoon and seeing blood in cartoons were rare.
The ps4 has a lot of good games. I really like one called blazing chrome it plays a lot like the old contra games. Fox n forest is a really nice side scroller game. Freedom planet game looks like sonic. Gun x lord looks like Metroid. There are a lot of good ps4 games! Horizon chase turbo is a really nice racing game that looks like outrun.

The ps4 is really darn good but if you don’t have the money for it, there is a game that is really good, it’s for the ps3 and ps4 called shovel knight. It’s a side scroller game and has a nice old school vibe to it. A really good adventure game. I forgot how much it costs but that game is fun. It can be hard but it’s worth it!
I think supposedly the ps5 will come out by the end of the year. I have a feeling that when it first comes out it will have a problem in a few months. Maybe I will wait a year or more before buying it just to see if any games will be worth it lol. I just hope they won’t come out with some amazing games so soon because that will suck if I can’t get it yet. 😂
I'm glad you mentioned the Ps4 because my oldest wants one badly. She has a PS3 but it's not to her liking anymore. Plus certain apps you can't download..like Disney plus.. So do you think it's worth it to purchase/to upgrade?...wait what?! A PS5?!
@riasm85, yes I loved the movie pretty in pink! I love those high school and college movies of the 80’s and 90’s. I love clueless! I also loved the movie 16 candles. I was just watching the movie tuff turf on YouTube. They have that 80’s movie free on there. 😃
Oh I recently got a ps4, it was for my son actually for Christmas that my bf bought it for him but I use the ps4 more than he does lol. I actually never played the neogeo games until the ps4 because back then the system was like 1,000 I think? It was very expensive. It’s nice to see that ps4 has a lot of old games. I love how they came out with new games for some of these old franchises like sonic mania and the new streets of rage 4. It’s a shame that the ps5 is supposed to come out soon. I got the ps4 too late. 😂 I really love this system. They have a sega collection on there with sonic 2 and like 20 other games for it. 😃

Yeah the 80’s and 90’s were such an amazing time to grow up into. Sometimes I wish I would have been a teen or an adult in the 80’s and 90’s but it was great experiencing it as a kid. I bet the club scenes were amazing those years though lol. I can only live through that by watching movies with club scenes like in the movie species. I love the house music they play in that club scene lol. As a kid it was fun playing outside, watching those afternoon cartoons during the weekday, tgif on Friday when they had boy meets world, full house and I think family matters as well? I can’t remember the whole list. Maybe even Sabrina the teenage witch? I loved watching the Spider-Man cartoons, sonic the hedgehog and tmnt on Saturday’s. Those were the days!
Ditto to everything you wrote. Those definitely were the days. The club scene back in the 80s I probably would've liked but I bet high school in that time would've been awesome! Watching stuff like the Breakfast club and Pretty in pink have me believing so!

@riasm85, that would be an amazing gift if you can get it again!! I can’t believe my genesis still works. It’s like I have a museum here. Too bad my old ibm computer is gone and I only have half of my Commodore 64 left. 😂 I got the keyboard still working but it’s hard to play games on the tv with that, so I only hook it up maybe like once a year. I would love to play my commodore more often but it’s a lot of work trying to figure out which plugs go where and why the disks aren’t loading half of the time. 😂 The tv portable ones don’t include my favorite games on there except for boulder dash and the Olympic Games. I miss the 80’s as well! I was born in 86 so I was lucky to catch some of that decade before it finished lol. I remember seeing music videos of Michael Jackson, Madonna, George Michael and U2 that time and the horror movies! In the 90’s I was blown away by no doubt and thought that she was awesome. I loved how clothes, her plaid pants and her hairstyles.
I was born in 85..idk I just think we are so blessed to have been born at the time we were. Childhood was everything! The music the games the movies the shows the fashion etc. I love how you are in to the old school games though. That's awesome!

I just started getting my son into sonic and video games last year. 😃 He’s funny though, he prefers Minecraft on the tablet more than sonic even though he says he loves sonic. 😂 He claims to love sonic more than me and I was like yeah right! Minecraft is your favorite. I felt like a little kid again when they released the sonic movie this year. I loved it! I watched it in the theater with my son. I hope they make a part 2. They cannot leave us hanging, especially since I heard that it was the best selling video game movie of all time. We were lucky to have watched it before everything closed down.
I thought the mortal kombat movie was amazing as well. The street fighter ones were never good lol.🤞🏻

My husband makes up bedtime stories about all the video game characters and it’s the cutest thing to listen to. We also have an alter ego for my son, a super hero that can enter into any video game. It’s such a fun age and it’s really awesome to see his interest and skills grow.

My childhood in the 80’s was pure awesome!! We had one of those station wagons that had sideways seats in the far back. We spent so much time outside. My mom would walk us down to the Dairy Queen for a treat. We spent a lot of time on bikes, riding the neighborhood. I had a banana seat bike in powder blue- it was the best!
My favorite toy was Strawberry Shortcake. I had the big house and many of the dolls.
I had pink jelly shoes, and those crazy charm necklaces. Madonna and Michael Jackson’s Thriller we’re huge when I was in 2nd/3rd grade. When I started getting older and wanting to call friends, I had to use the corded phone in the kitchen where everyone could hear what we talked about!
In middle school, every girl had to have white Keds and an Esprit bag for her books. We were not well off, so I saved all my allowance for a long time to buy my Esprit bag! New Kids On The Block and Paula Abdul were my jams in middle school. I had a pink radio/tape player combo that I would use to tape songs off the radio. I would get so mad when the DJ talked at the beginning or end of a song and ruined my recording.
My brothers were all younger than me, so they were into GI Joe, Care Bears, Pound Puppies, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And Legos! So many Legos!
College was the era of Pearl Jam and flannel shirts. Titanic came out when I was in college. I went with a group of girls to see it in the movie theater, and it was packed. The whole damn place was sobbing! After graduation, Eminem came on the scene, and all the boys dyed their hair blond, including my future husband! 😆 Cell phones weren’t a thing for the average population when I was young, so I didn’t have a cell phone until after college graduation (a Nokia block phone).
As far as fashion, I have some stellar pics of me as a small child in late 70’s plaid! Those were the days! 🥰
I forgot it was about 98 but it felt like the 90’s was already over at that point because my brother barley hung out with me since the fall of that year that’s when we barely would see each other.
My mom ended up giving away our sega genesis to one of my cousins that year. I was so mad. I had about 20 games for it that time and missed it. A few months after that my commodore broke down so the only games I had was for the windows. 😂 I didn’t get my genesis back until I was 16. Thank god my cousin returned it with all of the games.
We have a hacked sega with so many 80s and 90s games. My 4 year old loves Sonic 1, 2 and 3 and we just introduced him to Mario. Watching him play is so nostalgic for my husband and myself. Great memories of our 90’s childhoods.

So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

@scruffy.nerf.herder, I love your story! I remember damaging my brothers commodore in the 80’s. I threw a bucket of water on it and he was screaming at me. Sparks were coming out of it. 😂🤣 It was funny at the time but I wish I didn’t do that because once I started getting into video games, I really ended up loving the commodore computers lol. Luckily my father was able to get one again at the time.
