🚨GIRLS ONLY🚨
How did you all get your little girls to potty train, my daughter is almost 4 and trying to get her into school this year BUT the struggle has been real with her these last couple of years trying to get her to go on her own without her wetting herself. Any ideas, tips etc. Will greatly be appreciated

I ordered a potty chart for my daughter and we hung on the bathroom wall. Every time she went she got to put a sticker on the chart and got a piece of candy. I also praised her so much every time she went. Consistency is key!!!! It gets super frustrating but she will get there. My daughter was completely potty trained in the day by 3 by using this method.

My daughter is 3 and the same. I trie Potty charts, treats, potty timer everything. She’d go somedays and somedays not. She finally just decided to go on her own. She tells me when she has to go and goes she stays dry at nap time but does have accidents at bad time sometimes. I actually took her underwear away and told her she had to wear pull ups until she could be a big girl. Now she says can I’m a big girl can I have my underwear? Not sure if that made a difference lol I’m just glad she’s pretty much trained.

Rewards worked well for my daughter, but what helped her a lot was when we went places I did not put her in a diaper. She wore her underwear. She was really embarrassed to have an accident in public so she’d either tell me she had to go or I’d ask her often. After going out a few times like that, it was like a switch flipped and she was good. We also put a little stool by the toilet and that gave her some independence, which also helped.

I also did the naked method but just waist down when I did put her underwear on she will have accidents. I made her sit in her potty every 30 minutes for awhile in her playroom and if she didnt per let her play then 30 minutes later made her sit again for a little while till she actually pee and made it a big deal.and rewarded her with a toy. Then the next day she sat in her potty all day playing with her new toy and she pee and poop. By friday I didnt have to remind her to go potty she would go on her own.

To be honest, my daughter was completely stubborn about it. It was a huge process for us and I tried everything. I basically had to have a huge talk with her about how it is time to use the potty and to take a look at other kids at the park, that only the toddlers had diapers on. She decided to do it and it was done in a day. She just had to decide to go to the bathroom when she had to (which she thought was a big inconvenience to her playing). She was over 4 years old. I remember laying awake nights fretting about it.

I've potty trained 3 toddlers now with the naked method. Since she's a little older she might not be comfortable with that so you could do undies. You basically just have to stay consistent and deal with the accidents when they happen. It's frustrating but really the only way they'll 100% learn to go on their own. Never shame for accidents and just try to reassure that it happens sometimes but you need to go potty in the toilet.

Hey my daughter is the same age!
You're not alone. Our schools (public preschool) will let them go if they're not fully train. So I'd ask around.

We try to stay in underwear all day. I found it easier to insist on using the potty instead of asking. Like . Mommy is going to take a potty break. How about you come with me ?

We have peeing down but are still struggling with poop. So you're not the only one with an almost 4 year old struggling. I've brought it up to her doctor and they tell me to just be persistent but also be patient. It'll come to her

@mommyof1beauty, I know did when she actually went potty. I got mine off of amazon and it has like basic little star stickers that I’d give her for going pee then it had cool unicorn or rainbow stickers and she would get those for going poo

Patience & consistency is everything. My daughter is just now using the potty on her own. I just put her in big girl panties & sat her on the toilet every 15 mins & gave her a piece of candy only when she pooped but praised her everytime she used the potty! She eventually caught on & rarely has any accidents but it took many 3-4 months.
