What's a good age to let a baby girl get her ears pierced?
I let my daughter pierce her ears at 7 weeks old. She is two now and she loves them.
Yes I'm trying to get my boyfriend to agree with me for some reason he doesnt want her to have them pierced
My daughter just got hers done last month at 4 months. I had planned for 3 months but then I chickened out lol. And she is so advanced and using her hands very well so I decided to go ahead and do them because I didn’t want her to get to the point where she pulled them out. I seen you say you were thinking about 3 months and I think that’s perfect! 3 or 4 months for sure! But it’s ultimately when you are comfortable. Everyone told me to wait until they get their shots to see how they do with the pain to kind of see how they might do with getting their ears pierced. Shots are definitely more painful than ear piercing for them.. best wishes 🤗
Lols I agree ear piercing is just a small little pinch but it can still hurt to a small baby 🤷🏾♀️😊
@athenia823, yea I’m not saying it won’t hurt, just saying it may very well hurt less than shots for them. My baby cried during both, but she stopped shortly after getting her ears pierced. With her shots it took quite a while before she stopped
I did my daughters ears at one. Then again at 2 because they closed up but make sure to always put real earrings in her ears because my daughter's ears are messed up from cheap Claire's earrings
Yes I was only going to allow them to put real earrings in her ears
I waited till my girls could ask for them. They were 5 & 6. However, my 5 year old just took hers out this week cause she bumped one and caused it to swell and the started getting infected so we took it out to clean it and left it out and it ended up closing up a bit so now she took them both out and said she don’t want them😔
Awee...did you guys put the earring back in?
@athenia823, nope. She’s done with it now so we will have to re-pierce them if she ever wants them done again. 😔
My oldest got hers at 5 months.
My little one got hers at 1 years old.
I'm leaning towards 1 years old lol
When she's old enough to ask for them to be pierced. There's some documentary I can't remember the name. The piercer..like a world known piercer talks about how painful the healing process is, how the baby cant take care of them and are you able to successfully clean them, the risks of infection on a young baby. Just not a good idea I know it looks cute but there's too many risks
I'll probably have her to get them when shes one I think that will be better
The pediatricians around here will do them for your baby if they are at least 6 months old.
When we got my daughter’s pierced, the piercer said to do it early (before they discover their ears) or wait until they are old enough to know what is happening and want to have it done. My daughter was almost one. We took her to a tattoo shop. I’d advise that you go to a professional when you get them done. Whatever you decide, it’s ultimately your decision as a family to make.
Yes I was most definitely taking her to some one professional
How was he when he got them pierced?
@athenia823 He initially cried for like a minute then stopped. Then was great afterwards. No changes in behavior or sleeping etc. He doesn't remember getting it done.
Whenever you do it, just make sure you go to a tattoo parlor and let an actual piercer do it with a needle, don’t take her to Claire’s or piercing pagoda where they do it with a gun. The guns aren’t sterile and they can do damage. My daughter won’t be getting her ears pierced until she asks for them and knows what she’s asking for.
Oh really I didnt no the guns weren't sterilized..
Yeah 3 months sounds like a good age for a baby
My mom always said we had to have two digits in our age to get them pierced. So age 10 we could get two holes in our head. The next piercing was when we had three. So when I'm 100 I can get another hole in my head...😉 I actually found this entertaining as a child and now so I'm going to probably do the same thing. I figure by ten she can make her own decision without help from me. I'm not against the people who do it early I just think my mom was so funny about it and I look back with fond memories on getting it done and how big I felt. We went on my birthday and I was so excited to share that with my mom.
Same here. I got mine on my 10th birthday because my mom said I had to be old enough to take care of them properly. It was fun to look forward to getting them, and made me feel so grown up!
I just got my nuggets done she's 11 months but I think the standard age now by doctors is 6 months that's when we got my oldest done 🤗
@lottydottyAre you worried that she’s going to pull them out ... our dr said up to 6 months or wait until they are older around 2-3... only reason I’m asking is because I know my daughter would definitely pull them out
@alishap1212 no I'm not necessary worried it's just I'm wondering what's a good age for her that's all
This is really controversial and you’ll probably get a lot of rude comments but I was 3 months when i got mine done and we got our daughters done when she was 10 months. I wanted to get them done earlier but we didn’t agree on it for a while 🙄
Okay thanks for letting me no...and yes I'm thinking about letting her get them pierced at 3 months
