So my 4 month old had a fever of 100.6 last night. Gave her Tylenol, took a bath with her and did some skin to skin and it broke. She didn’t wake up all night(normal) her ear thermometer says 98.1 but when I get to my moms I’m using a different one just to make sure mind is reading right because she feels kind of warm. At what point do I have her seen? Because at this point I don’t think this is happening because of her shots anymore.

Please use a rectal thermometer for accurate read. I would not medicate for that low of a temp. 100.4 is a fever. On top of skin to skin you can use a warmish damp washcloth to keep her cool. Light clothing if any. And call her pediatrician since she’s little

It was higher than 100.4 it was 100.6.... I was told anything above 100.4 I can give her Tylenol for and take her to the dr because of how little she is.

Have you tried taking her temp under her armpit? I have twins in the nicu and all nurses and doctors has told me to take all temps under their armpits

So I just checked her temp 10 ish minutes ago and it said 100.5 I checked it again just now after breastfeeding her and it said 98.7? Is it because I breastfed her? Did feeding her actually help?

@bunsinmyoven, no I don’t have any thermometer that can do rectal. It’s for her ear. My mom has one I can use though

She probably caught a virus. If you’re concerned call her dr but I’d definitely try to avoid taking her in. It’s flu season, rsv is really bad this year. Fevers are the body’s way of doing its job. Keep her comfortable, if you can keep her in just a diaper, use a damp wash cloth to cool her down.

Her dr wouldn’t see her any time soon anyway(I hate that office so much) and I don’t want to take her anywhere else because I know it’ll just be gross in there 😩 I’m just so nervous because my sons fevers can go from normal to 104 in MINUTES and this is the first time she’s ever had a fever so idk what they will do...I’m just nervous.

Also- keep putting her to your breast if breast feeding and keep an eye on her soft spot

Why keep an eye on her soft spot? And I am breastfeeding she’s been nursing a lot so I’m hoping it helps.

Call her pediatricians nurse line. She's pretty little still so I would be careful with a fever.

They don’t have one unless the office is closed and they’re open. I absolutely despise that place especially after yesterday. I’m watching her a lot I probably took her temperature last night like 6 times within an hour 😬 and all they will tell me is “give her Tylenol because she can’t have anything else....” like no sh*t ughhhh I’m so annoyed 😭😭😭 I just want her to feel better

@myausome.life oh man. do you have an emergency clinic (I think some people call them walk in clinics, different from an er) near by? You could get her checked out there if her temp won't stay down. It sounds like you're doing everything right but if it won't come down or she seems to get worse I'd take her in.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
