If you are pregnant during a job interview do you tell them you are pregnant right away or do you wait a little longer if you get hired to say something ?
I didn't tell them until I couldnt hide it anymore. All the interviews before that I told them and I didnt get the job. I know its illegal for them to discriminate but they do.
I was literally just telling my husband this . He’s always wanted me to tell my job way early . Now he’s skeptical about me not telling them at the interview and I’m like ok but you know they can turn me down if I tell them .. even tho they’re not supposed to they will . 🤦🏽♀️
@xoxoalexusss I totally disagree with your husband. He's never been pregnant looking for work. Legally you do not have to tell them at all and they aren't allowed to ask.
It's illegal for them to discriminate because you're pregnant but I went on four interviews and told them and nothing. The fifth one I didnt tell and I got the job. Then when I was too big to hide it I told my boss and it was fine.
You do not have to disclose your pregnancy until you’re ready. Just be mindful though a lot of employers aren’t required to hold your position once you go on leave unless you’ve been there for a certain amount of time. Usually a year. Hopefully though they see your worth and want you to come back and they will hold your position for you.
If you truly need the job, I wouldn't. Training a new employee is expensive for a company and they will go with someone else if you aren't going back after baby.
