I know I said that I wanted to nurse but it's discouraging when it feels like she's always on me and I can't satisfy her....I've got some bottles of milk in the fridge but I wanna save them for the early morning feedings....sigh 😔 idk what else to do...I keep telling myself to take it a day at a time but sometimes it feels like I can't make it to the end....at this rate I'll be happy just to make it to her 1mth in 3wks....my goal is to make it to 2mths like I did my first but at this rate I just wanna finish the day....at least she's asleep now so I guess she's happy 😴
@armywife72515 Have you thought about seeing a lactation consultant?
@divinely_favored Lactation at the hospital was barely around, tried using a shield that didn't work, and while at the hospital lactation said no ties, the pediatrician said yes the skin under her tongue was thicker than normal but the pediatrician said no as well so I'm not sure why she's not latching
@armywife72515 No I mean you can go to your local WIC and get help. They have lactation consultants and breastfeeding classes. Lots of support for nursing mothers. I just dont want you to give up before getting some good support.
So I just pumped for about 18mins and only got an oz from my right and nothing from my left....that's concerning to me...really hope I can continue to pump otherwise my trip this weekend is going to be a lot harder...
What you pump is not an accurate indicator of how much milk you have. You'll never get as much pumping as your baby will nursing.
@divinely_favored that was thankfully a one time thing. I've been pumping around 3oz
I remember feeling the same with Sapphire. She nursed so much all she did was be on the boob and I felt what if she isnt getting enough but I just told myself to hold out that I'm sure it's fine and here we made it just over 1 1/2 yr breastfed. Shes feeding so much cuz she is helping regulate ur supply and bring it in plus breastmilk digests faster so they tend to eat more
Thanks ladies for being so encouraging it's been a roller coaster these past 9 days of trying to figure out how to do this. I had to almost immediately formula feed Molly since of her being early but it didn't stop me from trying so I tried pumping and nursing but it was causing too much emotional stress so I stopped at a month and a half/2mths. @lillyb @liyah12 @ekko @lizibear84 @bunsinmyoven @bodybycheetos
With my first he was formula fed after 2.5 because he has a bunch of ties that were undiagnosed, and we were struggling. He self weaned because the bottle was so much easier. This time around we’re doing pretty good. It was really hard in the beginning, but once you figure each other out, it’ll be a lot easier.
@lizibear84 Molly may have had a tie but it was undiagnosed
@armywife72515, Jacob has 4, and the LC in the hospital said he was fine.....
She has a TINY tummy. I hated the first few weeks because I felt like all I did was sit on the couch or bed and nurse (because that's all I did 😅). It gets easier mama.
Have you considered consulting a lactation consultant? It is def. worth the money. They are not only professionals, but they will give you all kind of different tips and tricks and guide and help you and your baby through this,so your baby can be healthy as possible.
I was seen by lactation consultants in the hospital but it felt like I was a bother and they didn't really come by very much. They only came maybe 3xs in the 2 days I was in the hospital...
@armywife72515, Yes it’s unfortunate, lactation consultants at the hospital are very busy and have crazy work hours,so it prob didn’t feel like the most welcoming environment.I would try and google PRIVATE lactation consultants in your area. You will probably have better luck that way because just like Doulas these private consultants come to your home and have way more time on their hands and your experience I am sure would be way more personalized and helpful.
@liyah12 I did talk to a doula during the end of my pregnancy since I didn't get to experience it with Molly (she was 35wks)
I agree she is regulating ur suprise and such. Hang in there itll get better soon I promise ♡
It’ll get easier after the first few weeks. Hang in there. This is normal!
She’s learning, growing and comforting. It will get better soon I promise!
She’s regulating your supply and building it up. Hang in there if you can! It won’t be forever!
@armywife72515, I know it sure does! Soon you’ll have nipples of steel and she will be more efficient
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.
