That irks me so much when they ask for certain brands, let the parents provide whatever brand they can afford.
When I was in school, they would send a list that included everything they wanted us to bring in: paper towel, loose leaf paper, tissues, pencil box, hand sanitizer, spiral books, black and white marble books, pencils, color pencils, eraser , folders, and many other stuff 🤦🏼♀️
@j.concepcion, me neither, and this is just second grade and a school that doesn’t give a poop about the students education. Working on changing her school soon
@l.yesi, That’s crazy! My 5 year old starts kindergarten in September, I can just imagine what they ask for.
For real lol And I’ve heard teachers say that it’s actually not enough still and they have to buy some stuff on their own after all this. 😳
Last year one of the things they asked was for a 50 pack of those clear sheet holders. Never saw a single one of them used 🤔 and then this year the list asked for things in numbers that made me overbuy. Like 8 sticks of glue but they only come in 6 or 12 packs over here so I had to get 12. Sneaky sneaky
Exactly! How they asked for 15 note books, 8 folders and so much more. I know they say most of the supplies will be used as a community but I ask myself if 15 out of 30 students in the class brings everything the supplies list ask where does it go at the end of the year because I never get anything back and every school yr they get the same supplies multiply
@bigmama18, yes. And they have 6 classes per day with around 28 kids per class. That’s a LOT of sanitizer and tissues.
@blueismycolor, I buy tissues and sanitizer for school even when it’s not asked by that seems excessive
@bigmama18, same here. In elementary, I always sent stuff throughout the year. But middle school I guess wants to stockpile it.
my kids lists had no school supplies on it. just stuff like paper towels, tissues, copy paper, dry erase markers black only, Clorox wipes.. im lilke so what the hell is my kid supposed to use for school supplies while im buying basically just teacher supplies. i understand teachers have to have stuff. but i do not believe its my job to buy them stuff especially when theres absolutley no real school supplies my kids will use on this list. no pencils, paper, glue..nothing...
I know a lot of schools provide the supplies, but dont provide the teachers supplies. Our schools are asking for clorox wipes, tissues, napkins, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, stuff like thar
My oldest going to 2nd grade, one of supplies that made me speechless was 15 marble notebook!
