Opinions. No bashing. My nearly 10yr old has asked if she can gave her cartilage (top of ear) pierced. She has 1 in each lobe. I'm not sure if shes a little young. Shes very grown up for her age and certainly doesn't look 10.
I have alot of piercings and cant remember when I had mine done it was that long ago

Yeah, if she does get it, please go somewhere that does it with a needle!
I got mine done at 15 with a gun, had 4 of them...thankfully never got damage or had infection with them...
But yeah I had lots of friends that copied me and they got infections etc...
I’m deffo a lot more educated on piercings since then and I’d never get another one done with a gun xx
Reason for needles to be used is that guns can shatter the cartilage and cause a lot of damage/infection xx
Hmm it’s your decision at the end of the day to let her :)
But school may ask her to take it out for PE and the healing process for cartilage is way longer than a lobe.
She needs to pay more attention cleaning.
Also don’t have it done with a gun. Always get it done with a needle.
I don’t think professional piercers will do cartilage piercings that young xx
I've had mine done. I was her age when I wanted it doing my mum refused and made me wait till I was 16 because I had no choice anyway and being stubborn I got it done and hated it ever since its still in but only cos these a lump at the back is rather keep it there. Also for months on end I was waking up in agony couldn't sleep on my right side it just wasn't worth it. Xx
I think I was 12 when I had the top of my ear done but despite me cleaning it properly and looking after it the cartilage skin grew over the back of the earring which meant it was stuck (cartilage overgrowth because it was trying to heal and close up) 🙄 I ended up having to go to A&E to get it removed with surgical pliers lol x
Personally I'd definitely say 10 is too young for that x
I had my belly button and helix done at 11 but that was over 10 years ago now. Your her parent if you think she’s mature enough to clean and take care of the piercing you do what you want to do x
It’s completely your choice, you know your daughter and if she is responsible enough to take care of it. I had mine done at 13 i think. I was always very nervous about it being knocked. And i found once i ended up taking it out a few yrs later the top of my ear stuck out a little.x
