Thoughts and experiences with putting your little ones in pageants?! My daughter is such a ham and loves dresses and tutus and putting on a show. I feel she would do great and actually enjoy it. She is gunna be 2 soon and I’m thinking of getting her into pageants or even dance. Thoughts mamas?!

I was in a pageant once don’t remember much because I was around your daughters age but I only did it once I wouldn’t do it if I had a daughter but dance definitely yes I’ve been competitive dancing since I was 5 and I love it

I don’t want my girls in either personally. My girls are girly so I encourage lots of dress up and imaginative play at home.. outside of our home I feel like the world gets catty and competitive fast. I want them to retain their innocence as long as possible.
No experience here, but if it seems like something she'd enjoy why not? I've heard they can get expensive so I'd check in with expectations around that too.

personally i wouldn’t put my daughter in pageants, but dance definitely.

Dance is awesome! I personally don't love the idea of pageants for my little girl because I think they promote a certain standard of beauty and it's not a very all inclusive place. Especially as the girls age. If you're comfortable though and she wants to do it, go for it!

Pageant kid here. I loved every second of it.! I competed for 18 years and now I judge them. Natural pageants is where you would want to start. I did glitz and let me tell you it is nothing at all like toddlers and tiaras shows it as. Ive got life long friends I’ve made from them. Heck we’ve even got an play group now with our kids. I guess I had in my mind the natural pageants I just didn’t know it lol. We live in a rural area and the small ones around here aren’t the glitz ones you see on tv lol. I better do some research. There is so much I don’t know hahaha

@tiera_shaye, natural ones are great especially for the littles. I would research like you said. I don’t know an ton about natural pageants but I do know some so if you do wanna ask anything you can always shot me an message
She’s your baby . I would do what you feel you want too .

Baby won't bear weight on leg I have a walking 10 month old and she has been extra fussy yesterday and today. Today I noticed she didn't really want to crawl, she would just cry until I came and picked her up. After I fed her, I tried setting her down to play with her big sister and she just started crying and wouldn't put any weight on her left leg. She will put weight down on her right leg but then just cries until you pick her back up. I thought maybe she just didn't want to be put down (as baby's often do). I tried a few more times over the next 30 minutes and she still won't put any weight on it. I had a meeting (I work from home), so I took her upstairs to my husband. She is now playing with her siblings and happy, but he text me (from upstairs) and says she still won't put weight on it. She is just sitting there playing.
Shes only 5days an her doctor said not to put anything on it and leave it alone??

Dad's FB Video!! Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!

I grew up doing pageants, my mom left it up to me when I was ready to quit. Our pageants around here that I competed in were like the county fair pageant, and Christmas Pageants. I started around 4 and quit at about 12, but that's when I switched over to Rodeo Queen Pageants. They aren't that bad of a thing to get involved in as long as she wants to do them. My daughter wanted to do pageants, she did one (and won it), and decided it wasn't for her. Competitive Dance would be an awesome thing as well as. Either one as long as you have the money to pay for travel expenses, hotel (if needed), and costumes/dresses would be a good thing to let her try.
Dont let our opinions sway you either way. Its your daughter, do what you and she would like to do.
