PA residents, I have a question. I recently moved to a new place here in PA. Was at my old place for 3 yrs never had any issues with my rent, my landlord, or neighbors. This new place I’m in, signed a lease Dec 15th 2018. Since singing the lease, the landlord has changed 3 times. There’s multiple keys to my place floating around && I don’t even know what the owner looks like, the maintenance man looks like, nothing. Every time I try to schedule a sit down with my “landlord” unavailable. So now they have my taking my rent to a leasing office where the property manager handles the rent. I don’t even know who owns the house anymore at this point. Then with the rent, it’s pay in 3 days or it’s late. $50 a day on the 4th day. Wtf?? Can someone help me make sense of this please.

Yes that seems really shady. I’d ask to meet the landlord ASAP!!

It’s normal for a home owner to hire a property management company, especially if they have more than 2-3 properties. They would be who you call to have a maintenance man come. And late fees are normal. If the due date is the 1st. It is late after that. A due date is the very last day to pay a bill, it doesn’t mean wait until the last day to take care of it. So I would make a goal to pay between the 20-25.

@zoeysmom28, I am sure it is public information on who owns it. 🧐 just need to do some investigation lol

@rayofmysunshine, the persons who’s listed isn’t the owner anymore. So I think they sold it && I just don’t know. Which is why there’s so many changes. But if I can’t get this resolved going into next month, I’ll be doing as much research as possible to get out of this lease.

@zoeysmom28, what a headache. Have you asked the Property management for the owners information?

I’ve been in my place 3 years and I’ve never met my landlord either 🤷🏾‍♀️ it’s seems common in this area to have property managers. But I’d definitely change the locks because that would make me uncomfortable

The type of doors I have && locks they have put on are super weird. My last place I never met my landlord face to face, but she would contact me directly if I had any questions or anything. If she wasn’t available, someone else was. These people are never in the office, I don’t even know who owns this house let along who the actual landlord is. Every month I kid you not, there is a change.

@denise1493, Lmaooo I’m just like am k tripping? Did I have it too good at my old place wtf. I don’t know who to contact when I can’t get a response from the property management office. All maintenance && rent issues is handle by the same person, but if he’s never in the office, doesn’t return my calls, or respond to text. Wtf do I do? How is it then my responsibility to do all this extra shit?
