How old were your babies when you swapped them from a infant seat to a rear facing convertible car seat?

So, in IL you now have to leave your child rear facing until two years of age, my question is do any of you mommies know a good car seat that starts as rear facing but can transition to front facing? I am going to need to get a new car seat before long but I was hoping to be able to turn her front facing at a year old and now that that is out of the question, I have to figure something out.
Thanks. I didn't know that i should have my 2 year old RF still in our state my pedi said i could turn him around FF after he's over 20 pounds plus he's yall for his age.... But reading this I'm gonna turn him back around and keep my 11 month old RF as long as possible.
