Anyone have credit cards? My husband wants to get one to help build his credit but also start and build credit for me. Anyone know of one?

Capital One is the one I started with to build credit. Now I have Discover instead (which I love). Credit cards are really good for your credit if you use them correctly! I use mine for everything and pay it off in full every month. I made over $200 last year in cashback from Discover.

We were thinking of using it to pay a bill or two and then pay it off right after. That way it's easy to build our credit.

@mommyof.3, That will work! When I started I just used it for gas. If you consistently use it every month and then pay it off in full each month it can only do good things for you.

It depends on your score which kind you can get. We had really shitty credit and wanted to buy a house. So we each got credit one cards with VERY low limits (because that’s all we could get) and used them for gas and such and then paid them off every month. It took a little over a year. But we raised our scores from the low 400’s to the 650’s and were able to buy a house.

I have a chase Southwest Airlines card. I get miles to redeem for free flights. I use it to pay for everything then pay it off. Do not use it unless you have the money to pay for what you put on it that’s how you get into debt.
