Kylans cough won't go away
He's been coughing for a good week now, I've tried all the usual - Vicks, honey, fluids, tixylix, steamy room and nothing seems to be shifting it.. He's coughing to the point he's making himself choke/gag and gets bright red in the face like he's gasping for breath.. Any advice?

Oh bless him hope he starts to feel better soon. I bloody hated the walk in center in Coventry! 2 hours must be a world record though for that place? Lol xx

Thankyou all for your messages/advice yesterday ladies.. Sat down the walk in centre for 2 hours today - he's got a throat infection and on antibiotics for the next week x

Poor Kylan. Definitely sounds like their might be something related to his chest. Is his pillow propped? That usually helps Sophia when she’s like that. Calpol, inhaler drink and a propped pillow and it usually sets her back to sleep. My doctor said that cough syrups don’t actually help either and to avoid them just give calpol. Which I’ve found works better xxx

I've been giving him both hun and neither seems to be working.. He has juice next to his bed every night and a puffy pillow. Going to take him to the walk in centre in the morning and then if that fails I'll give 111 a call and get him an out of hours appointment x

Bless him😣 deffo take him doctors Logan suffers really bad with his chest we’ve just recently got over another chest infection 2nd one this year! Sounds like he might need antibiotics or could be post natal drip which basically is mucus trickling down his throat which will cause him to cough worse at night as he’s lay down! Hope he gets better soon and you get your happy boy back! 💗

Thankyou for your lovely message, your little one suffers really bad with respiratory problems doesn't he bless him 😢.. He's definitely worse at night but in the day he's coughing so much he starts choking and heaving like he's about to be sick so I know it's not just a normal cough/cold as he's had plenty of those since starting nursery lol x

yeah he’s so bad with it we’ve finally been referred for additional tests thank god! But bless him there is nothing worse than watching them struggle, when Logan is strugglingnst night we put him on his side and it helps open up his airways the hospital told us to do it and it does help until he rolls back he’s such a fidget haha but keep us updated on how he gets on fingers crossed he’s better by Monday! Always a message away if you need any help lovely xx

thankyou hun.. I'm gonna take him down the walk in centre first thing and hope that the wait isn't 4+ hours as usual. If that fails I'll call 111 and get an out of hours appointment x

I had this with my LG I think i spoke to you about it tbh, it turned out she had a chest infection and sore throat and got put on inhaler and anti biotics. It was the same with my little girl just as you have described xx deffinatly worth going to doctors xz

Yeah I actually though of you when I wrote thise post Lisa!
He's just woke up coughing and crying again.. It's every ten minutes he's having a coughing/heaving fit then crying for mummy and falling back to sleep again for another ten minutes..
Glad you finally got some answers, is she feeling better now? There must be some nasty bugs about at the minute x

I'm gonna give them a ring when they open Monday morning and get him an appointment.. He hasn't got a fever and has a mild runny nose but not bad like a cold x

well we went the walking centre with her first they said there was nothing wrong with her then the doctors 3 times , the 4th time we went back they said yeah she needs anti biotics to clear it.. If you know its more than a cold or a baby cold as they call it then u keep going hun. Make sure they do a full check of him as the first 3 times olivia went thet never checked her over at all just her throat an one side of her back xx

thankyou hun I will do, does my head in when they palm you off.. Yeah I'm normally pretty relaxed with coughs/colds etc and treat stuff at home but now its been as long as it has with no sign of improvement if anything he's getting worse I'd rather him be seen x
