@beebeejgill, nope and when she tries it hurts like mad. 🙈 so I guess she isn’t latching right, so I give her formula most of the time I was trying to breast feed but than felt she wasn’t getting any as she could be on my breast for longer than an hour and still cry for more milk 🙈 so today I though I’ll pump the milk out and feed it that way but I need to gain more supply and continue to pump as I’m not getting much out pumping and she’s already on 3oz of milk

@leanne2016, Breast fed babies feed differently, can hurt in some cases, has she been checked for tongue tie? Is her mouth open wide enough when you put her on?feeding for an hour is generally fine, you can just switch to the other boob :) also the boob isn’t just food, its comfort too so like a dummy :)

Also bottles can effect the latch so it’s not recommended to use them before 6 weeks old. If you want to breast feed or use bottles with breast milk I suggest trying to latch on as often as possible, pump and reduce formula.

Giving formula can hurt your supply too. But pumping isn’t a good indication of supply... babies can always get out more than you pump. But to increase supply drink water, eat greens and eat oats :) take breast feeding supplements.. diet is important for breast feeding.

If you don’t pump whilst she is having formula your supply could decrease. But that happens over days not 12hours so you will be fine hun for now :) I suggest buying more than one pump xx

I know but I’m not comfortable in using just my hands lol I have the pump but can’t get to it till tomorrow but I’m scared my milk might magically disappear

@theodoresmammy, thanks hun I think that’s the problem she’s constantly wanting to feed 🙈🙈 she’s never full when I’m breast feeding so I feel so bad and bring out the formula especially at night feeds but I’m gonna try and start pumping again and do it every 2hrs apparently it’ll help with the milk supply even if I store them till I get a better supply some breast is better than none right lol

@leanne2016 yeah, Theo was like that, he still has days like that. He you thought about giving a dummy? I know they say not to but as long as you still follow feeding cues then you can.

Pumping will help with supply as long as you have a good fitting pump. Putting baby to the breast is the best for your supply. I would definitely try and see someone if her latch is uncomfortable, it could be tongue tie.

Any breast is better than none! Do you have Facebook or Instagram? There's loads of groups on there that are full of women who can offer really good support and advice :)

@theodoresmammy, I went to a midwife the other day at my app but no matter how much she latch’s it’s so uncomfortable so I don’t know, and I tried to offer dummy and she isn’t taking to it so yeah
