This bruise randomly appeared on my breast today. Is that normal?

His latch looks kinda shallow. Are you having any issues other than just the bruise?

Mine would pinch/grab at my boob and leave bruises like that

@youngbutwisemomma Shallow latch often mean tongue and/or lip tie. Mine has both to the 3rd degree so he's going to have the ties released soon. Check under his top lip and under his tongue because doctor's miss this due to looking in the mouth the wrong direction...

Baby needs to be placed on your lap with his head against your pelvic area. Open his mouth with two two fingers. Examine the area. If there is a tie he will have it attached either at the top, middle in between whete his teeth will be or wrapping around under the gums. There are 4 different degrees of tie.

For tongue: take your finger and sweep under the tongue. If it's smoothe there is no tie, if not use both index fingers and gently find the tie under the tongue. This is more tricky as to how much tightness there is. A trained dentist, ENT or Oral Surgeon is needed to access the problem and have the tie released.

Baby will need pumped milk while healing. I hope this helps you or at least helps another mama who is wondering about shallow latch and tongue/lip tie relations. ❤

My son would pinch me and I'd have bruises all over my boobs. He's a cutie 💙 also he looks as if he's half latched just from the view of the picture which my son would do when he was just using me as a pacifier . Lol

If you want to post a pic like this go for it I have done it and lots of other moms have on this app my son would try to latch in the wrong place and give me like hickeys sometimes also he would pinch and leave marks. Such a cute little guy!

This will happening to me occasionally, my daughter sort of misses the boob 😂 and I’ve lost most sensitivity and feeling, so bam. I get like a little bruise/baby hickey on the booby

Maybe his latch isn’t deep enough? Not sure hun.
