I didn’t have a good experience with either the Mirena or paraguard and I still ended up pregnant on both of them. My Mirena migrated and embedded in my uterus and caused extreme pain and bleeding and I had to have “exploratory surgery” for them to find it and remove it

Thanks for sharing your experience with me! My sister in law also had the iud and she got pregnant twice! And I’ve read stories about having surgery to find the iud. So now I’m really debating whether to go for it or not!

I really liked the idea of it but I’ve read so many bad stories like my own and some even worse. Just do your research I’ve learned that!

Im on my 2nd paragard with no issues. Have had this one in for about a year now.

After yet another nurse told me she conceived on the IUD and had an ectopic pregnancy that caused her to have terrible scarring resulting in back to back miscarriages, I said nope! I have enough issues with keeping my pregnancy so not happening!

I was gonna get the IUD after I give birth. My Dr told me it was the best form of birth control. Has the least symptoms and works the best (so his patients have told him) I wanted the 5 or 8 year one.
