Should you have a baby shower for your second baby if its the same gender as your first?

My mom threw me baby showers for 4 of my kids.. and at the time I honestly didn’t know it was a “no no” to have one for each baby. I say each baby deserves to be celebrated and get some new stuff! You may not need the big items but it’s fun getting clothes and accessories for baby.

I did a sprinkle for my second. My girls are 5 years apart. We kept everything so we really didn't need much. We were just asking for diapers and wipes. My sprinkle everyone still bought whatever they wanted and I only got 1 box of diapers. Then we had a coed bbq diaper and wipe party and got a bunch from friends.

Every Mommy is different❤💫 I'm not a "traditional mommy" lol so I dont like the whole someone planning and putting your baby shower together for you. 🙅‍♀️ lol just personally dont want to financially have anyone putting themselves in a tight predicament rather they do or dont have the ability to do it... plus I like to do things of that sort on my own, to make sure it comes out the way I want it lol (might just be the Aries in me or pride) 🙌 with my daughter her dad's mother took over and shut down my plans I had, so I didn't get to experience the baby shower how I imagined it being - with Baby#2 now my cousin talked me into doing a baby shower due to my family being further out so they'll be doing a gathering at my grandmother's, however I prefer a Welcome Party so we decided once the bundle is born and able to start going out and about were going to have a Welcome Party (prince theme 🤗☺❤) and invite his family and our friends that live more close to us but😊💫❤ Wishing you all the best and good luck on making a decision!

I didn't with my second but I was also on bed rest and had no family around so there was no point. I think every baby should be celebrated. I personally like sip and see/diaper raffles. If you have everything you need you can always ask everyone on the invitations to bring their favorite children's book instead of gifts.

Yeah, people keep on asking if I'm having one but i dont feel i should. We have almost everything we need, diapers included, and honestly baby showers can be kind of expensive to throw.

I think every baby deserves a celebration. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a shower but rather than a sprinkle or a diaper party

I’m pregnant with my second. My first is 3 if it’s a boy I won’t have another shower just probably a diaper party. If it’s a girl I will have a shower. I feel like it depends on the age gap between your kids. Also your family and friends. My sister has had 5 kids and we’ve had showers for everyone of them!

We had a party to celebrate all our babies, we didnt call them all showers nor did we expect gifts.

Some will say it’s a social no no, but if you’re willing to throw your own shower or sprinkle or if there is someone in your life that wants to throw it for you, have at it. Personally, I’d probably just go for a sprinkle or a diaper party.
