My son is one year old and i want him to go back and get use to sleeping in the crib I put him in the crib and all he does is cry and I spoke to his doctor and his doctor said let him cry like in 2 or 3 days he should get use to sleeping on his own has anyone try it ?
We've been training him since 10 months. He will be 2 next week. It's been tough but we've stayed steady. Routine: Shower, play/run/read, pjs, turn on sound machine music, turn on fan if its hot (for like an hour I turn off when he's sleeping), warm bottle now soft sippy cup, burp and lay him down in crib, kiss cheek & say night night. Close the door ( just leave a tiny crack to sneak hand in to turn off fan switch).
He still cries a bit then hugs his bunny to sleep. Took forever for him to learn stubborn like his mama. Beginning he cried for 2 hrs. Then less & less. Every 10-20 mins we would check on him. Tell him its ok night night & he'd scream worse so we stopped going in. We just lay in bed not making a sound hoping he gives up crying & goes to sleep. We have a camera that sees him in the dark so we could see him without going in the room.
Sleep training is brutal. It drove me crazy to hear him cry for forever but now we're grateful we did it. Weve had to re-train him multiple times its no walk in the park especially with new milestones like walking or teething molars but it gives us more restful sleep not cosleeping anymore. He sleeps 11 hrs regularly still wakes in the night cries & goes back to sleep on his own. Do what works for you👍🏼 teaching your baby the life skill of falling asleep on their own will help them in the long run. Even as adults its hard to sleep on cue so cut them some slack & wish you the best
@nicole_2, aww thank you very much
@bj1605, yes self soothing is a leaned behavior.
@sara_fina88, it’s bad my son is very clingy and literally he doesn’t like anyone to hold him he just want me as much as I love that it’s can get hard at time because if I leave him with my mom or sisters he just cry and beg for me and I just be like 🤦🏻♀️ but why lol
Looks like you're figuring out what works for him 🤗 its not easy but them needing you less for stuff like sleep is a good thing. Hopefully you stick to your routine & everybody get more sleep💤
@sara_fina88, he always sleep in the crib since he was a new born but when he was teething and I went back to work he was in my room and I use to get up so tired and just pick him up and lay in my bed and now he is use to it so I am trying to get him back into the crib
@cams, wow I hope so he gets use to it
@sara_fina88, he was screaming at first and then crying then he took some break and was crying very low and then out of no where he stop I went into the room 5 min later and he was knock out it’s hurt me to hear him cry because he scream so damn loud and but what I do is close the door and I just sit in my couch since the living room is right across my son room I put the tv very low and I give him the blanket and kiss him and his teddy bear I am going to try tomorrow as well but I will get him a night light so maybe he won’t be as scare
We did a gentler version of the Ferber method. Worked in 3 days. Both boys sleep great now. 12+ hours a night, straight through.

@soon-2b-mother-of-3, oh okay lol yeah I know but it’s hard I don’t drive and I live in ct but I do play with him and stuff like that
@bj1605 you guys can go to Chucky Cheese or watch his favorite movie popcorn whatever his favorite snacks are. Just mommy of son day
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, what u mean son and mommy day and yeah I fix him so he more comfortable but yes I am going to keep doing that until I feel comfortable his door is going to be open and then my door is going to be open but I might just sleep in the couch until I am use to him sleeping well then I’ll start to sleep in my bed
Yes... But you got this... You're already doing such an amazing job already. Maybe you guys can just have a son and mommy day they usually helps with me.
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, thanks love I try it’s so hard
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, my son is one right now he going to be 1 year old and 4 month when she is born
@bj1605 I do think that you would do a perfect job you have nothing to worry about love everything is going to be okay and do you have to take a deep breath
@bj1605 I get it.. My daughter will be born in January. Not sure how my son and daughter will actually be. My daughter seems to be very happy but she's only 3 my son and other hand is not excited to have another sister but and if he can do about that.
@brittney.arp11, I have my two dogs and I know my sisters are having winter break so they better come I don’t want to be alone but I am scare to be alone I am going to be 34 week pregnant
@bj1605 that's definitely a hard thing sleeping alone in a house I hate that!
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, my baby girl is due in February and my son is like my everything I am so nervous and scare like I wish I went 😞☹️
You will be fine.. you have a little man and a baby coming also so mine people here to help you stay busy until he comes back.and before you know it you'll be back you had your baby and little man's going to be perfectly fine
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, I am going to go crazy
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, yeah it’s hard not only that but my husband is going to Florida in December and unfortunately my job didn’t approve those days that he is going so he is going without me
@bj1605 awe love.. don't beat yourself up.I promise you he will be just fine and believe me I really do understand my daughter is clingy when it comes to both of her parents and partially that reason it's my fault because I can't let it go so I do understand.
I used the Ferber method, which seems to be what your doc is suggesting. But you let kiddo cry for a few minutes first before comforting, then a few more, then a few more, etc. It worked well for my son - he started falling asleep on his own after only a few days. But it may not work for all kiddos. Definitely worth a try though, in my opinion!
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, but yeah I think I am going to Buy a night light
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, I put some teddy bear and his blanket I am about to put my shirt there so he thinks I am with him or he can at least smell my sent because it’s hard and I don’t like hearing him cry 😢 my son is very clingy to me and I feel bad doing it to him I know a part of it , it’s my fault and now he paying the price and myself as well
I understand I'm about to have another baby too so I'm in the bath and two kids in the same room not because we don't have the room is just because I have separation issues with her is real bad. Maybe you can get some little star lights or a little might like this thing soon or maybe he can go with you to go pick out some on some favorite toys you can put in his room
@soon-2b-mother-of-3, Yeah it’s hard because I am about to have another baby and I can’t have him in the same room as mine because if he cry then he is going to wake the baby up and if she cry then she would wake him so I am trying my best to make him sleep in his crib and in his room I go in the room and I give him his blanket and kiss him and tell him okay papi go to bed he cry and it’s hurt me but then it’s like I want him to get use to it now
Trying to get the babies to sleep in their own bed is a hard task. What I learned if you sleep in the room with him and then slowly it closer and closer to the door he will get used to it. What I had to do with my son. My my daughter on the other hand I am having difficult more time cuz of me I don't want to let it go.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Any advice with getting your toddler to sleep in his crib. Fiancé is over him sleeping with us so we put his crib back up . He fell asleep in his high chair so I tried to transfer him into his crib and he felt it so now he's in it just crying . I'm sure 20 mins or so has passed now .
Tips to getting my 11week old to sleep in his crib. He cries and has a fit forever he eventually quiets down but picks right back up last night I think he fell asleep for like an hour before he was back up crying again then I just let him sleep with me :/ ugh I should of never let him sleep with me to begin with but I just wanted some sleep and now that's what he is use too 😔

My baby boy has me so worried he has such delicate skin. Calling the doctor tomorrow to take him in & get checked out. No matter what lotion I use on his skin he gets like this. Breaks my heart
I need advice on getting my 5 month old to sleep on his own in his crib....he is not wanting to sleep by himself and will fall asleep with me holding him and then when I go to put him down he wakes up! And cries till I pick him up. I don’t like the cry it out method any other suggestions
