@whitneycrowe17 it should be healed by now... It takes 6 weeks for an ankle break to, possibly up to 12 weeks, but you are past that. Have you injured it again since the initial break? I broke my ankle about 5 months ago and it's technically healed, but I definitely still feel the weakness and pain in it. My doctor told me that it will now be a week spot and prone to subsequent breaks if I'm not careful. I had to go to physical therapy for several weeks to regain mobility and flexibility in it. Hope your orthopedic doctor can help you out, but at this long past the initial break, you're probably looking at a surgery and a lengthy recovery.

I broke 5 bones in my foot 4 months ago. I have one that still won’t heal and they’re trying to get me a bone stimulator. We decided against surgery and thankfully because I would have been pregnant but to early to test positive. The surgery would have guaranteed a much longer recovery, at least 2 surgeries, a hard cast and may still never have been 100%. I first saw an orthopedic surgeon who wasn’t comfortable with caring for me so he referred me to a foot and ankle specialist in the same practice. Do you need a referral for specialists? I highly recommend one instead of a general orthopedic surgeon.

It’s supposed to be done within a few weeks. Prognosis isn’t good after that. Are you seeing an orthopedic doctor or a foot and ankle specialist?

Oh no, how'd it break? Ive never had a broken bone. Sorry to hear. Honestly if it felt like my doc wasn't doing anything, I'd go to someone else.
