All of the sudden my son hates going to “school” I.e. daycare. He just switched classrooms because he is 2 1/2 so that appears to be the trigger, I assume he doesn’t like his teacher...as soon as we mention it in the morning he starts crying, I have to wrestle with him to get his shoes on, it’s awful. I don’t know what to do anymore!? Anyone go through a similar experience?

@ecahanes, it’s so heartbreaking, I stayed an extra hour yesterday watching on the video monitor to see how long it took him to settle and then watch how he interacted, it took about an hour for him to calm down and start interacting with the kids, but when I picked him up he seemed happy and I asked if he had a fun day and he said yes.

It’s more than likely due to the classroom change. Kids like routine and familiarity, so being in a new class with new teachers and kids is going to be tough at first. Just talk to the director and teacher about how rough of a time he’s having and they can assist with his transition.

Maybe the kids are mean and he might also feel shy

It could just be because it's different and a change. Kids aren't big fans of change. Talk to them and see what they think but I really think he just needs to get use to the change
