I'd interview a couple babysiters then have them come by a couple times to get to know them before the birth. You don't want to have an 11 month in the hospital with you, that would be hard.

@cori.severs, I was thinking we could have my fiancé’s boss and his wife watch her but he doesn’t want to ask him because he just started this job October 1st

See if you can pay the trip to one of your relatives to come help you

I feel your pain... I agree with @cori.severs. It seems like trying out a few babysitters beforehand is the answer. I've never tried care.com but their sitters are supposed to be reviewed & background checked. I'm looking into it since I don't have family members I trust either, other than my mom, but she's getting way too old sit a newborn, & I need a daytime alternative.

@nfb061417 me too. I was thinking of, after choosing someone, interviewing them, asking for references, & doing an internet search on them. That's the best I can think of. Oh, & Nanny cams/security system cameras where you can watch their every move from your cell phone.

@terieg, yeah he wants to do the same and we have cameras already.
