Hand, foot and mouth disease!!!! It is going around terribly right now and my baby has it. My daughters never got this. I’m going to give him ibruprophen for the painful mouth blisters but can I give him a teething tablet to numb the pain of his gums while he has this? What else can I do and does anyone know when he can return to daycare? He hasn’t ran a fever during this at all.

@busymom_lovinlife my kids had it before, it's so bad. If your older kids get it you can make a mixture to help their mouths. My pediatrician recommended it. Maalox, Benadryl equal parts, and anbesol, orajel( a few squirts) mix it. Have them swish it around and spit it out. It coats the mouth sores. And ibuprofen. And ceraVe makes a lotion that helps with the skin itchiness. It has a red label and contains pramoxine.

@ivegot10, thank you! I just didn’t know if one of his sores were to open it would affect it badly

You could definitely use a teething tablet for the mouth blisters.

@sahmplustwo_., it goes away within 7-10 days, there is no medication or vaccine for this I fortunately.

@sahmplustwo_., I looked it up and it says it’s easily spread by either skin-to-skin contact, saliva or airborne by coughing or sneezing.
