When you were in the hospital to give birth did they have meals for you? and if so how much did you have to pay? I was also wondering if hospitals also give you some added baby items or not?
Food is included for mom. For dad it’s super cheap I think like $5 for a meal and drink. All baby items are included. They also send me home with pampers and formula.
My hospital had a gourmet kitchen you could order from 6am-6pm. Hubby got one meal free and mine were included. Baby got bath wash, onesie, swaddle sack, diapers, wipes, bulb syringe, thermometer, and a hand knitted blanket and hat. I got a gift bag with a water bottle in it plus the baby’s onesie.
Food was included. A meal for my husband was extra. They had diapers, wipes, a hat, a sleep sack, a pacifier, shirts, and formula provided for baby. They also allowed me to use a hospital pump and gave me supplies for it. I'm delivering at a different hospital this time and my OB told me that all I have to bring for baby is a going home outfit - they supply everything else.
Food was provided for me and my husband before I delivered and for me only after delivery. But I honestly wish i asked my hubby to bring me food instead because their food wasn’t good and meals were too small.
Every hospital is different so definitely find out what they provide as for baby items. Food I’m sure every hospital provides breakfast lunch and dinner with no charge.
They provide 3 meals a day. And they usually give you a binkie, blankets for swaddling, a bunch of diapers (last time I got 5 packs), some wipes, pads and usually a gift bag.
My hospital has decent enough food and lots of places to deliver. For mom food is "included" as in billed with the cost of the room and only dad has to pay cash for food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and there is a menu. And our hospital does not have any added baby items. You can take what is used in the room because they will just toss it obviously. You should call the hospital you're delivering at. They can tell you or sometimes they offer visits so you can see everything and ask questions then.
They provided me with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks if I wanted. They also gave me blankets, wipes, diapers, vaseline, formula, bottles, nose sucker, binky, lotion, baby wash, and the shirts baby wore in hospital.
You don’t have to pay for the meals and you don’t have to eat the food there either you can have your so bring you outside food. You can usually take home whatever they give you and some times they give you extra.
