Why Wasn't I Told About My Borderline Anemia Sooner?
So I found out at my appt today that, despite the fact that my prenatal has iron in it and I eat a ton of iron rich veggies, that I’m borderline anemic. These numbers are based off of the blood work I got done at EIGHT weeks! Y’all. I was upset. I’ve been unbelievably exhausted and my house has fallen to the wayside because I literally don’t have the energy. I’m zapped every day. I’ve been running on fumes for weeks. So I told her this and I asked her why no one called me to let me know I was 1 point away from being anemic even WITH an iron supplement. Ugh 😫 I could have been feeling better by now.
BUT, I’m adding another iron supplement in starting tomorrow morning and I should be feeling like myself soon. Trying to stay positive but it really sucks when you’ve been miserable and someone knew the reason why and just didn’t say anything. Maybe I should have called sooner since I pretty much knew I had to be. 🤷🏻♀️

I know it sounds weird. But when I was pregnant I was super anemic and iron pills weren’t working and my doctor said to cook with a cast iron skillet. It helps a lot.

I’m extremely anemic I’m exhausted constantly and the iron pills make me
extremely sick

@jasmine.moore7509, are you taking them with food mama? Crackers and OJ. The vitamin C in the OJ helps your body absorb the iron easier. Crackers will help settle your stomach. I’ve been anemic off and on my whole life. I was anemic towards the end of my pregnancy with my son. Oh! Also make sure you’re getting slow release. It’s much gentler on your system. 🤗

I’ve been anemic my entire life also it gets worse in pregnancy. I take the OJ which gives me terrible heartburn which I take Zantac for then they make me nauseated which I take zofran for I hate all the medicine I have to take just to tolerate it

@jasmine.moore7509, damn girl. That’s rough. It’s all worth it in the end though. A lot of you’re pregnancy symptoms just magically disappear once the baby is born. It’s kind of crazy. My heartburn went away immediately. My rib/back pain. Other than a sore vagina, I was back to normal by the next day. 🤣 Hang in there! You’re getting closer!
