What are the odds that my dr will check my cervix tomorrow considering what happened over the weekend??

@beakymcspence, you were right, he didn’t check me today, said he didn’t wanna chance the contractions starting up again.

@beakymcspence, yeah they didn’t stop it with my daughter who came at 36 weeks. I just didn’t wanna have her this early because of what happened with my first kinda scares me.

@rebelprincesz24, I had my oldest son at 34w3 and I had no indication but with my daughter Memphis I was 2cm dilated and 75% effaced from 33 weeks till she was born at 38 weeks 🤷‍♀️ As long as your not contracting you can walk around dilated for quite some time. Likely the bed rest will help. I’d say if you make it to the 36 mark they won’t stop labour.

@beakymcspence, they gave me the toradol while I was in the hospital and put me on antibiotics for my bladder infection, I haven’t had anymore contractions either so maybe he will start checking again at 36 weeks, if I make it that far. I’m only 2cm dilated but they said I was 80% effaced

We’ll just voice your concerns and let him know how you’re feeling and I’m sure he’ll have a solution or atleast a few words to make you feel better. Good luck hun!

@hail, yeah that’s true but it’s always better to be safe than sorry, plus I’m sure he’s gonna wanna see me every week now

@rebelprincesz24, If they’ve given you medication to stop labour then there’d be no urgent reason to check again unless you present to them in labour. At least that’s our protocol on L&D. Repeat checking can cause further issue and put you at an elevated risk for infection. If it were me I’d request not being checked again unless they felt it absolutely necessary.

@beakymcspence, when I was released from the hospital they checked my cervix before they would even let me go and I was still at a 2 so maybe my dr won’t check me since that was on Monday.

@rebelprincesz24, oh! I was just asking if you could ask them to if you wanted one. Here they won’t do it early unless something happens.

@rebelprincesz24, Doctors don’t usually do cervical checks this early, but if you’ve had a scare they might. Generally though if there’s been an issue they won’t due to risking irritating the cervix or causing further issue.

@hail, it’s not that I want them to, I had a scare Saturday that put me in the hospital until Monday. I’m 2cm dilated already and I was just wondering since all that happened if the dr would start checking me early.
